This list is probably what you expect.

I do find it interesting that 11-12 years ago there were a lot of calls on the main board and the BoH board for the league to return to Winnipeg, yet Winnipeg is in just about every response.

I thought it was Mete that wasn't there at the time and out of the country? I thought Makar just came out and said he wasn't involved.

EDIT: I just looked it up. Mete said he was in Jamaica on vacation with family. Makar, from what I saw quickly just said he wasn't involved but there was no mention of him being out of the country in the quick, albeit limited, search I did.
Ah, thanks. Had my M’s mixed up.

The Athletic with the off-season prediction whammy (22% said Canes would be runner-up too):

It wasn't just this, ~23% of the vote also said we would finish runner-up to the Cup, meaning that 67%-68% of the entire vote thought we were at the very least winning the East this year.

And that's right now. Things could get even nuttier if we land someone like Tarasenko or Karlsson

Well in my opinion we were a Svech away from winning the East last and seem to have gotten better, at least on paper.

Also last year or no I think Vegas beats us, however if Patches would have panned out...

I feel good about next year and really like our team as it is right now and adding Tank for a reasonable deal would be a nice addition but important to note that being that great or "improved" on paper doesn't mean a whole lot. Rags made the ECF and beat us a year ago then added Trocheck, Kane and Tarasenko for nothing and we made it 2 rounds further than them. Winning a cup is really a lot about luck and timing (staying healthy and getting hot, especially in net and PP, at the right time).

That's why I really like our strategy of not trying to go all in or jeopardizing future years just for immediate benefit -- we'll have a shot and be one of the top contenders year in and year out which gives us many more opportunities for getting that luck/timing and winning it all at least 1 year. Boston last year on paper going into the playoffs was an insane powerhouse and they couldn't even win a series. Look at how long it took the Caps to finally win one too. I'm willing to be patient and enjoying the ride, the last 5 seasons have been friggin awesome even without winning it all and I'll still be happy even if it takes more time to finally get a Cup with this core.

Can’t imagine that the Canes do not already have these monitoring and measurement tools in place. I imagine they could offer tutorials.

Maybe I'm cynical about billionaires but that sounds like "we aren't making enough off of these, lets.get an outside firm to say they are more effective so we can raise the rates"

Only time I’ve ever seen an ad and thought, “damn I need that” is late at night when I’ve been stoned and a pizza ad came on.
Advertising as a whole is an industry built on sand. Ad firms sink a lot of money into trying to convince clients that advertising works wonders- and they have every incentive to make all of that evidence up entirely.

They are advertising advertising. Given the number of ads I see on TV and clogging up the inter-webs, advertising advertising must work wonders.

I will go out of my way to not buy something I've seen ads for.
Shit, I'm not exactly opposite, but I don't mind getting the occasional ads for stuff I like/want.am interested in.

I saw an ad for Hardaddy shirts on Instagram once and ended up getting a great deal on 3 really cool bowling-esque shirts. Sort of an impulse thing. The only issue is now I get a shit ton of ads for shirts. It's kinda like the Amazon thing where you search for and buy a toilet seat and then get "recommendations" for toilet seats for the next 20 months. You'd think somebody would inform the algorithm that it's difficult to see a situation where I'd need multiple toilet seats....especially from Amazon.

And if there were a situation where someone was tearing up toilet seats, you'd hope the algorithm would be smart enough to be recommending doctors, as well.

I'm sorry, but I embrace my visited sites getting taken over by ads for products I've been looking online and keep clicking them bastards. My favorite part is after the purchase looking stuff I should've gotten instead.

I did the same and now......shirts, shirts, shirts.

Glad I didn't buy my sex toys on Instagram...

It's just kinda crazy that Muller never got another shot as a head coach to this point. Even horrific failures usually do. And he was in a very difficult situation here as far as resources and ownership, not that I think he did great regardless of that. If there's one thing sports teams like to do, it's recycle coaches that have experience even if they're failures repeatedly.

I imagine the interviews going something like this:
