Our long lost pal Faulk scores for his Blues.

Late edit: lots of action in this game. Donato scores on a rebound off Binnington. Seattle trying to tie this up.

Well did they score, or what??

it took the Islanders 17 minutes to record a shot. Fans were booing after the 10 minute mark if the devils got the puck out of the zone before a shot was taken

Matt Tkachuk with some of the dumbest game-losing behavior you’ll ever see in OT of Lightning/Panthers.

Gets beaten by Kucherov for a breakaway, which unto itself is forgivable when 3-on-3. But then instead of doing the usual subtle interference with the shot, he just flat-out smacks Kucherov across the back with his stick. So right there he’s already lucky not to give up a penalty shot, and he’s definitely putting his team down 4-on-3. Then drives Kucherov off the boards for no reason, which gives Kucherov a chance to do his usual b**** shit acting like he’s been shot. So Tkachuk takes two more shots at him while he’s laying on the ice. An angry Hedman roughing minor was the only thing standing between Florida and a 5-on-3 for two minutes in OT, and that’s after already getting a break on the penalty shot.

Tampa scores, game over. Truly monumental dumb shit by Tkachuk. He might have a hard time in the East.

Hot take, that contract will age poorly. Tkachuk got his dollars though so good for him.

Just sounds like normal dickhead behavior you'd have to put up with Tkachuk sometimes. I still bet you live by that sword more often than your die by it. He had a couple points in a game his team only scored two as well. I still would have been thrilled to have him. Not like I'd consider 3 on 3 his forte either.

I guess the question is, if you’re a Stanley Cup contender do you really want to be dependent on a guy who scores 2 points to get you to OT and then loses the game with stupid antics?

He seems like a better fit for a bubble team than one with high expectations.

I know it's a hot take, but I don't think the contract will age poorly, unless injuries come into play, but that's a risk with anyone. He'll only be 31-32 in the final year of his contract so this contract pretty much covers his prime playing years. With the cap going up over the course of the contract, his deal will be less and less of the % of the team's cap hit.

I don't think he'll be a 40G, 100P player year in and year out, but if you remove last season from his numbers all together, he's still been a 30G, 74P player (per 82 games) since 18/19. A guy like that who is 6'2, 200lbs, that also plays with a physical edge and a bit of a mean streak is worth that contract IMO, particularly with the cap increasing.

He's a hot head who takes some dumb penalties for sure, but that comes along with everything else he brings. There's a reason why Carolina was trying to acquire him.

I'm not so sure. Colorado went after Kadri and they had cup aspirations. Multiple teams went after Corey Perry and had cup aspirations. Heck, Calgary had contender aspirations and wanted to keep him.

To BBA's point, sometimes you lose a series because Kadri gets suspended against Vegas. Sometimes you get the version of Kadri you got last year that was instrumental in winning the Cup.

Tkachuk and guys like him aren't without risks, but damn would I be thrilled to have a guy like him around.
