Washington, DC.
It's comical but I can't say I'm surprised. Offensive production is always given more attention; it's a testament of how good Slavin is on the defensive side that he's even on the list. Is there anyone else in that top 32 that is considered a true defensive defenseman?
And I would also put exactly zero stock in a fan vote.

Kane is going to look good in a Rags uni. First guy to wear 88 for them as well since Lindros.
I certainly don't think Kane is cooked or too injured and he'd be a big addition for the Rags.

That being said, I put it out there not too long ago, and Dundon hinted at it a little bit today, there's only so much higher you can push your odds when it comes to the playoffs in the NHL. Four teams you have to beat. All it takes is a poor matchup or a bad week and you're toast.

Even with Kane (should they get him), I don't see the Rags as a team that's significantly better than the Canes, Lightning, Toronto (I'm not nearly as fixated as most that they can't win in the playoffs), Bruins, or Devils.

If Matthews wins a SC with the TML, he's their goat. This is a fact because @tarheelhockey said it. Who's @DaveG ? ;)

Honestly, people scoff, but if the Leafs can break their first round curse, I could see them riding that high all the way.

And this year could be the year for them to do it. They're essentially locked into TB as their first round opponent, and the Lightning have looked very mortal this season, Vasi especially.
