As a Cleveland Guardians fan, I can already hear it from Dolan.
I thought you were a Tigers and/or Cubs fan just from a very brief time reading your posts on the baseball board here, I didn't expect you to be a Cleveland fan lol. But I truly think this is gonna cause some shit the next year or two especially if the Bally teams don't get their expected payout.

And here I thought it was just me. Well between the Canes and the Guards we have some of the most exciting teams and cheap ass owners we root for
I just got my MLB.tv renewal notice as well. I hope I can watch successfully this season because if I can't I am not going to be happy about the money I spent.

I thought Gary waved it off just last week in his presser?

Gary is an absolute master at waving things off. And I actually mean that sincerely. He’s an actual master of publicly acting casual about a crisis. If a spy balloon was hovering over the Pentagon, Gary would be like “We see all kinds of balloons in DC every day, and they all end up popping sooner or later. This one will be no exception, and our fans in Washington are eagerly looking forward to a newly balloon-free environment.”

I was always under the impression (and someone please correct me if I’m wrong) that the broadcast crew were employees of the team not the channel. Like if ballys or fox or whoever was providing the on air talent why bother having a set for each team?

They are employees of the team. Hard to believe anyone here would think otherwise after all the dundon so cheaping after forslund left.

I'm going to go out on a limb and assume the teams and leagues have always been prepared for a tv rights situation like this in general terms, and given things have been rumored to head this way for a bit, have been getting more specifically prepared in recent times with many different scenarios planned out. I'm sure there will be some level of pain, but I do think they will be ready to get to work on it as the path becomes clear.

Little man syndrome in full effect
Peel apparently was livid over McGlynn and Boren’s decision to toss Mayers and Lashoff, the two coaches, for their behavior during the game.

Boren said when Peel reached the referee’s room, he wedged his way into the doorway. “And I said, ‘Hey, Tim, you can read, that says, ‘officials,’ not parents. You’re not supposed to be in here. You’re not even a coach,’” Boren said.

“And he goes, ‘Do you know who the f— I am? You sit down and respect me. I have a couple questions.’ And he just berated us. He stood in front of that door for 20 minutes. Asking questions about the game. Why we were on the game. Telling us we don’t deserve it. Telling us that he’s going to contact the assignors, and we’re never going to ref another game again.”

I'd love Peel to ever try that on me. As a parent now or as a youth referee back in the day. I'd ignore him now but I'd probably have knocked his boomer block off back in the day. Luckily I had a mentor and supervisors who told me to never ever take shit from abusive parents so it never escalated other than maybe a few choice words but yikes.

Credit to the Isles after I was clowning them the other night, they came up big in a game against one of the teams they are chasing. Came back from a couple down and managed to score fairly late to win in regulation.
The fight for 4th in the Metro and the last playoff spot in the East is gonna be interesting.

But I am more interested in the Rags losing. McDavid got his 100th point tonight, hopefully he gets 101+ as well.

Definitely enjoying the Rags getting smoked so far. They do have the firepower to potentially keep it interesting though.

Hawks come back to beat the Sens in OT. Somebody must have finally told Kane that if he does ultimately want to get traded, he might want to produce. He scored a couple of goals.

Meaningless Match of the Night: Hawks rally from 3-1 down midway in the 3rd to top Ottawa 4-3 in OT. Chicago has won 9 straight vs the Sens.
