Technically @Raccoon Jesus threw it out first on the main board but I didn’t see it until after I made my comment. You had to throw that out into the universe, didn't ya?
The 2nd one is DEFINITELY a penalty. Lazy lunging with the stick and it ends up under the blade of the skater. Two minutes all day long. The first one was a total dive however. Those just look like bad calls over players losing edges. They weren't penalties, but not dives either.
Just harder for the human eye to process in real time.

Both are correct.Hey kings fans just noticed byfield's stats and was pretty surprised. Is he playing well and the pucks just not going in for him or its something to be concerned about??
I can see what you mean on the second one. Looks like he does step on the blade of the stick, which causes a slip of the skate blade. The 2nd one is DEFINITELY a penalty. He’s playing like ass and has the confidence of the stereotypical nerd in a 90s movie who keeps getting shoved into lockers. No one is happy with his play. And most of us are giving up on him and his consistent ability to be a mental midget. Last year he benefitted from being with Kopitar but now that he’s been away from him he’s collapsing into nothingness. We had hope that he’d grow out of the mental issues in his game but he’s just all tools ( minus a good shot) and no toolbox kind of guy. He does have a few good plays every now and then but he’s too much of a non factor generally. I think his ceiling if we’re lucky is a low end 2nd liner or a decent third liner. To see a player like Laferriere take charge out of no where and produce like this vs Byfield just constantly sucking for the most part is good enough evidence of what we got with him.Hey kings fans just noticed byfield's stats and was pretty surprised. You should be much more concerned about what to get me for ChristmasHey kings fans just noticed byfield's stats and was pretty surprised. Is he playing well and the pucks just not going in for him or its something to be concerned about??
2nd one, stick wasn't near his blade.
Yes it was. But As Pasta pushes off, his skate contacts the stick of #14 and it causes him to toe pick. I wonder if that is technically considered a trip by the rule book since it was his stride that made him contact the stick.

So do u think it was technically a trip still? obviously not a flop... the 1st one looks like a flop, but maybe the stick check to the thigh gave him a tiny charly horse mid stride.. some weird calls for sure. Neither was a flop.Good shots, I was wrong, I was going off of the video without stills, looked in real time that he pulled the stick away before the fall was initiated...

Lots of guys drafted 2019 and after dont look all that great this season. Some better than others but not many game changers yet in Bedard, Kakko, Byram, Dach, Smith, Fantili, Raymond, Power, Luke Hughes, Wright, Gauthier, Reinbacher. Carlsons injury prone… Most guys from the top of 2024 arent even playing in the NHL yet. Some young high picks keeping QB (2/11/27/PP1) company in the mediocrity department are Beniers (2/16/29/PP1) , Slafkofsky (1/14/24/PP1) and MacTavish (3/10/19/PP2)
Legend: pick/pts/games/pp unit
Nice list.. you forgot Mitchkov he is PPG... great pick by the Flyers.. my friend said he'd be better than bedard and so far he's rightLots of guys drafted 2019 and after dont look all that great this season. So far the best look to be Jack Hughes, Stutzle, Celebrini. After that maybe Cooley and Sanderson.
This generation of players is just not as good as the last great crop of Mcdavid Matthews Eichel Tkachuk…
Yea he looks good he was outside the top 5 and I was just doing top 5 picks to compare Byfield and Turcotte to. Really a lot of these guys are not yet taking over their teams and changing the culture.Nice list.. you forgot Mitchkov he is PPG... great pick by the Flyers.. my friend said he'd be better than bedard and so far he's right
Got it.. You made a good point re that recent top picks arent doing much.Yea he looks good he was outside the top 5 and I was just doing top 5 picks to compare Byfield and Turcotte to. Really a lot of these guys are not yet taking over their teams and changing the culture.
