In case anyone missed it. Imagine thinking a deke is disrespectful, one of the worst takes I've ever seen...

man, don't try and pull any of that fancy shit on our goalie. If you team gets that worked up against a move like that, there are other issues. What's next, no slapshots?

To me, the only one being embarrassed by the Hughes breakaway move is Hughes himself -- for taking a bad shot & missing. Might as well have been Lewis.

LMAO. Maybe whoever that twat is should be more concerned about why the whole Rangers team didn’t bother to back check allowing Hughes the time to slow down. They didn’t have pride to back check but they’re gonna be mad about a deke? Get real.

The constant honor culture pearl clutching in hockey is so backwards and holds the sport back.
At the risk of sounding like a dinosaur, I miss players taking matters into their own hands when they feel "disrespected".

Pundits complaining about playing hockey a right or wrong way, especially when it's against "your team", crack me up.

Really good looking roster for Team USA. They left some of the high skilled guys out (Tage Thompson, Caufield) but guys like Trochek, Nelson and Larkin will work better in bottom line roles than those guys would have. But they can also hold their own offensively, better than say DL's laughable Abdelkader pick 8 years ago.

Maybe we will see my dream defense pairing of Hughes and Faber, those two guys will compliment each other better than any defense-pair I can ever remember.

Overall I think Guerin did a really fine job constructing this roster, and on paper I think Team USA will have the best and most balanced team out of the four.

US roster is looking good, fully expect the Tkachuk bro's to go ape. Nice to see Faber get a well deserved shot. US finally seems to have elite C depth that could match up with anyone, and that's even without Tage on there.

Funny how someone mockingly says how the Rangers are struggling and they should fire the coach, etc etc, and then days later they move on from their team captain, which does indeed show they are willing to make significant changes to a disappointing roster. Sometimes these guys just do enough work owning themselves on this forum.

Ducks could've had him for free or at least made the Rangers give them something to take him but they're the ones who gave up something?

Ducks just threw Drury an even bigger lifeline than the one the Caps threw Blake last summer. Subtracting a bad player and getting $8m cap space all while getting paid for it is incredible for them.

Sometimes other teams will opt to trade a player instead of taking one on waivers. It could be to lose another bad contract, or because they're at the 50 contract limit, etc.

Anaheim has a low budget, so they had the cap space. They might have upped the ante if another team was in on it.

I dont understand why the Ducks would eat Trouba's 8mil through next season.. what is the point of it during a rebuild.. they arent close to the cap floor. Weird.

Ducks could want a tough guy to shield their youth from other thugs. Though most likely Trouba will be targeting other team's players unprovoked, as usual. Good thing we're a lot tougher this year. Not happy having him in the division though, thanks Quackers...

I think Verbeek wants to build a certain type of team, a team that will probably have a lot of prime Trouba type players (not specific to position) and he wants some of Trouba to rub off on some of his younger players.

The contract is off the books after next season, the same time they will probably have to give big $$ to at least one of Carlsson and Gauthier.
