Always liked this guy and looks like he's taken the next step.

I remember people being so low on the 2017 draft, saying it was one of the worst in recent years.

So far it has produced:
Hischier
Makar
Pettersson
Hesikanen
Mittlestadt - taken a big step this year
Necas
Suzuki
Robert Thomas
Oettinger
Robertson
Batherson

Plus a hell of a lot other players that will be mainstays in the NHL (just not as high end). Turns out it was an extremely above average draft in the end 👍. Dont count your chickens before they hatch.

I'm as big a Gretzky fan as it comes, but I've always been a huge Ovechkin fan too. So as much as I've never wanted anyone to beat Wayne's "big" records, I'm all for seeing this one go down at this point.

To see a record go down in your lifetime not once, but potentially twice, in a span of 30+ years, is pretty damn special.

It is an interesting watch. I'd be fine if Ovechkin never scored another goal though.

And comparing different rule era's does cloud it somewhat, but that doesn't just apply to now, but the different rules for the last century.

"Records are meant to be broken." Quotes by many people.

Will it take as long for Leafs fans to stop obsessing over a former GM?

I think it's finally happened. Boston has fallen off. I prayed for times like this.
It's not surprising. They are old and slow, and they made two terrible free agent signings.

Probably not as long. Although he's destroying his second franchise, he's not destroying a team that is in as good shape as his first was.
He's not destroying Pittsburgh. They were always going to turn into exactly what they are now. All he did was add another older guy (EK), but he gave up very little to acquire him. The owners were never going to let him, or anyone else, trade Crosby, Malkin or Letang.

i don’t believe it yet
They are a bubble team. Decent chance they either end up in third in the Atlantic or a wild card team. In either case, they are a first round exit. Before it even gets to that point, Monty will be fired, and rightfully so. He should have been fired after losing to Florida in the first round.

Oh no. If you are predicting Boston losses we are looking at a 20 game heater from them

knock yourself out. Or, go with the logical response that sometimes teams don't do a good job of replacing the guys they have lost. That is Boston's situation.
