Hyman at zero points after 6 games, the Oilers PP looks flat and coach Knob already going back to McDrai. Team looks slower than they did last year too.

Trash D and mediocre goaltending doesn’t help as well.

Said it before and will say it again. They would have made the final even with Woodcroft still as coach. Knoblauch is getting too much credit. What changed was Skinner learning to make some stops. They still stink defensively.

Hyman goes as McDavid goes. He is the tap in guy. He is the guy left open when Connor does his globetrotter act. Hasn’t happened this season so far.

Despite letting in 4, Samsonov put up a .918 still, seems to be playing well for Vegas so far. Florida looks like they aren't missing a beat even without Barkov

The whole Hyman experience has felt pretty suspect but they're getting value out of every dollar and his playoff record keeps us quiet, for now at least.

These 5 teams will be battling for the two WC spots with 1 of the 3 Metro teams getting third place in their division:

1) Caps
2) Bruins
3) Canes
4) Isles
5) Sens

McDrai + their shitty division will secure the Oilers a playoff spot, but man that team is old and so slow. No goaltending and horrible defense, new additions don't look too great either. Lots of holes and not many assets in that roster to fill them.

Hot take: It's not a lock McDavid re-signs there.

I think he stays.

Him and Draisaitl have talked it out. If they were bounced in the first round last year then I would say both of them walked.

Looks like the Pens are benching Bunting. What a horrible lineup they have with especially that D:

Beauvillier-Crosby-Rust
O’Connor-Malkin-Rakell
Puustinen-Eller-Puljujarvi
Hayes-Glass-Acciari

Grzelcyk-Letang
Pettersson-Karlsson
Graves-Shea

That cup run going to make them get stuck in purgatory hell and a bad managed team for the majority of their career.

14m Drais, 15m+ McDavid, 12m Bouchard, 9.5m Nurse.

With minimal contributing younger players and not much in the cupboards.

They'll be even more screwed when Ekholm takes a step back (hes 34).

Tristan Jarry healthy scratched for Pens last game. 2nd year of a five-year contract cap hit of $5.375 million. 1-1-0 , but with a .836 save percentage and a 5.47 goals-against average. Dubas never was very good at the "find a goalie" thing.

It's hard to imagine that Ottawa could screw up yet another goalie contract, but here we are. I said at the start of the season that Ottawa would sign him to a big contract and that he would then probably crap the bed through injury and mediocre play. All boxes checked so far.
