Is it? I'm not too familiar with their pool, but aside from the Raymond and Seider draft picks (both of which were lottery selections), who else is tracking well? Those Kasper and Edvinsson kids are looking decent but they're still rookies pretty much, while nobody else has seemed to really made a mark. I know Cossa is highly regarded and has had a nice start to his pro career, but am not too familiar with the others. They had 51 picks between 2019-2023 and thus far it's only the aforementioned names that seem to be noteworthy.

Im not overly familiar with their prospects, I wasn't sure. I like a lot of their picks. Lombardi right now is trending very well as well, he looks great.

Yzerman has got to be one of the worst gms at FA signings since his time in Detroit. Like pretty much every single signing has been a complete dud.

Interesting too that Tampa got their cups when another GM was able to come in and control free agency + player trades.

Yzerman does decent on trades at least, but his time in Detroit certainly shows he's not master GM. So much of it comes down to luck too

Blackhawks firing their coach at this juncture is just very odd timing and reeks of an unclear building plan

Another team that's doesn't have a coherent plan. They got so lucky they got the #1 pick during a superstar draft year or else they'd be completely sunk

Too close to Ottawa and Montreal
Maybe I’m mistaken, watching the Nash game tonite, Habs on the pp Pred loses his stick in his dzone, Laine moves the stick with his stick out of the way, away from the Nash player. I’m sure I’ve heard this talked about in some detail on Leafs broadcasts this year a couple of times(and I believe Leafs got penalized for it at least once) that you can’t do it even to help a teammate.
Yet tonite it was obvious waht Laine did and there was no mention at all. Mike Johnson is usually right on this kinda thing.
Maybe I misremember or maybe it’s another example of ticky tacky calls in Leaf games. As always the state of refereeing and rule enforcement remains curiously haphazard

Panthers are kinda Leafy this year. Playing down to bad opponents but dummying good playoff teams.
