Okposo should play for the sabres for free. Signed that long ass contract as an UFA and never delivered. Buffalo didnt get a single decent season out of that contract, just like the other big name UFA's that summer (Eriksson, Lucic and Ladd).

Buffalo's just thankful Arizona and Philly take the heat off them in the clown show competition.

The Skinner deal a few years later was terrible too. They gave a guy with a career high 63 points $9Mx8, and before this year with scoring way up, his career high was still 63 points.

Easy for him to say. The power dynamic there was dramatically in Aldrich's favor. It's easy to sit back and say "I would have just beat the shit out of him before letting that happen to me", but in the moment, with a person you trust and who has power and control over your NHL dreams, it's not so simple. Plus he was threatening him with a baseball bat, as I recall, that adds to the danger for somebody who relies on their body for their career and can't afford an injury. What a piece of shit, some people will always blame the victim instead of the rapist.

You're mistakenly under the assumption that ignorant pieces of shit actually think before speaking.

Also that comes off like he's trying way too hard to say he's not gay.

If everyone stopped letting themselves be raped and assaulted then we wouldn't have any more rapes or assaults.

Edit: obviously I'm being sarcastic and facetious, but I wanted to make it clear in case thats lost in the plain-text nature of my post.

Lol Flames never change. I know we had several player-coach conflicts last year so hear me out fellas. Let’s bring in one of the most abrasive old school coaches out there in Gallant.

Why would they go from wanting to keep Sutter, to firing him because they found out the Flames players hated playing for him because he's such a hardass, to replacing him with Gallant?

Sounds like they didn't actually learn anything, they just wanted to appease players who were threatening to leave.

If I were them I'd keep the same position, because the front office clearly doesn't give a shit about them. It wasn't just Huberdeau.

Tbf the Kruger years weren’t as much his fault. You can’t play a goal scorer like him on the 4th line and expect him to be effective. That’s just gross negligence of an asset.

Bit too much Okposo hate... he didn't live up to his contract (UFAs almost never do), but he's a solid 3rd liner now who is a pretty positive defensive player, good PKer, and brings physicality and leadership. At 2.5m he's a solid deal... for a team swimming in cap space, he makes a lot of sense.

Kruger only coached there two years. He wasn't there his first year in Buffalo when he put up 63 points in 82 games. Wasn't there last year either when he put up 63 points again in 80 games.

In fact he's scored 63 points 4 times in his career, including his rookie season. It's like he wasn't allowed to score more until this year.
