I still don't know if the Oilers have the absolute worst goaltenders in the league year after year or it's a team defense thing.

Or neither, maybe actually look at goaltending coaching. Goalies that go to Edmonton seemingly regress. It can't all be just on team defense. I mean we haven't looked that good with our defense at times, but our goalies have been above average. Parkkila knows what he's doing.

Love the Oilers sucking. Would really like the Canucks to fall back down to earth before everyone remembers why the Canucks had one of the most hated fanbases in the past

Oh I definitely haven't forgotten the Nucks fanbase

At least they have a likable team for once this time

I was kinda sympathetic towards the Canucks before the season started and was glad they had a good start. But I'm starting to regret it now lol.

In the end, the more Canadian teams suffer, the more entertaining it is.

Not surprised, but on hockey night in Canada. They said Jack Hughes will miss some time, but has avoided the worst case scenario.

That sucks. I was hoping to see him live when I go to the game on Tuesday.

I always start off thinking it would be fun for them to be good again and at least the team itself is fairly likeable so that maybe I’d run into more people who are into hockey again. I immensely regret that now forgetting how quickly Canucks fans become insufferable

I actually really want to not mind Hughes.
Great player and fun to watch but Canucks fans (in real life not the ones here even) have given me an irrational hatred for the guy. It’s been years now of any (non-relative) Canucks fans I meet yammering on about Hughes the moment they find out I’m an Avs fan. It’s exhausting

I hope I'm wrong, because he is the kind of player I love watching. But it seems like he has dodged a bullet until the next bullet comes. Stay healthy Jack.

I think it’s more team defense as a whole than goaltending… Drai is probably the worst defensive forward in the NHL. The Oilers desperately need a Nuke or a Lehky to help take some of the burden off Drai. And they also desperately need some solid bottom 6’er s who can pr any sort of defense from the forward group.

Also a crazy stat I heard the other day, Jack Campbell as actually in the positives for goals saved above expected. That says everything you need to know about the Oilers team defense.

Is it a burden if you actually do nothing defensively?

Maybe I'm late about this but are Leafs using the same goal song as us? Watched a highlight on Matthews hattrick goal and I heard that.
