I'm surprised more of y'all aren't singing the praises of the Dallas Stars. Nill could've very easily fudged a bit and had Tyler Seguin wait to come back after the season so he had some more LTIR leeway but he's scheduled to return before the end of the regular season, so that's not available to them.

So as far as wins and losses are concerned, Jared Bednar's first season in Colorado might rank as the very worst debut for an NHL coach in history, but I can't remember one displaying more gross incompetence his rookie year than Pascal Vincent.

It's like he's going out of his way to piss off every single player in that locker room.

The 16 team playoff was implemented when there were 21 teams in the league. That would be a 24 team playoff today. I'm not saying go there necessarily... but the playoffs should be expanded. Especially when we get to 34 and 36 teams in the league. I think 20 is really the sweetspot to target.

20 is awkward though
10 in each conference in round one. Down to 5 in round two. Which leaves one team with no dancing partner.

16 is perfect. 24 has the same problem as 20, but in a later round.

12 down to 6, down to 3...

Edit: And if the "solution" is to give teams a bye, that works in the NFL because there is only one game per round, but to have one team having sat out for nearly 2 weeks and having played up to 7 fewer games, sounds pretty shit.
