Honestly insanity. 41 games for a betting infraction, but Perron will get a fraction of that for trying to concuss someone intentionally.
Personally I don’t understand that people don’t understand why gambling is far worse for the league than a crosscheck.

In this case the official version was that his friend used his account but the fact is his account was used to gamble on hockey games. They clearly didn’t believe him (hence the suspension) but they had to go with that publicly to save face.

One has the potential to end careers and cause lifelong brain damage.

The other is gambling.

Not hard.

If the NHL integrity becomes in question many careers would be in jeopardy. We’re talking billions of dollars in play, literally.

So yes, very hard.
It's going to happen soon whether the NHL likes it or not. It's what happens when you go from 0-100 with gambling.

NHL needs to punish offenses like Perron's just as harshly.

This kid singing the anthem in Edmonton is singing so slow its gonna be a while until she’s done with both anthems

Gambling is an integrity of the game thing... players know there is zero tolerance there.

I see the obvious here, but it will never stop being hilarious because of how lightly they punish dirty plays, and how out of nowhere that shit was.

It's like the dude tripped and got hit by a bus, but the dude who pushed the guy in front of the bus gets away with it. Yeah, I'll stick with this analogy. 🤣

Wow. We can't have this shit in the game.

Edit: Apparently this was in retaliation for this missed boarding call.

Looks like the refs completely lost control of the game.

I've no problem with Gudbranson going after Cousins after the dirty boarding. Cousins could either man up or turtle, his choice.

He decided to turtle and wasn't going to get injured by those punches anyway.

I don't like those first two throws when Cousins is already turtling. He's putting his entire body weight behind those punches. That could seriously injure someone.

That first boarding only being 2 minutes is complete BS though. Refs need more accountability.

Lol, a lot of people here saying "it will be tough" for them to make the playoffs and were dancing on their collective graves, and now they are basically level on points for the 8th slot
The only thing we have ever been wrong about give us a break!

I mean unless you expect this to continue, they just hit .500 and it took a 7-game win streak to do it.

I am not saying they will miss, but at best IMO they will be a wildcard and even then it will be a season-long battle because of their start.

Like I said 2 weeks ago, they had to pass Minny, Seattle, Calgary, St. Louis, Nashville and Arizona, not the hardest list of teams to surpass. They've passed half that list already and have 2 games on St. Louis. Shouldn't really be a surprise that the Oilers have gone on a run like this when they've shown plenty of ability to do that.

Impressive turtling twice in the same game from the same player
