Oh they definitely don't look fixed.

McDavid has 12 points in his last 3 games. All 3 Oiler wins.

He is amazing, but he is not 3 points per game good.
Hasn’t that always been the case for the Oilers? They only win when McDavid scores 3 or 4 points per game. It’s nothing new

Oilers are going to be fine and now you’ve just pissed off the best player in the world saying a rookie is better than him

Lol no. How much does the media think about the victim when reporting about say a rape that has happened between common people? Nada. The only thing the insiders/beats are thinking is themselves and their access to people. For the Blackhawks it's obvious they are protecting their employee.

It's a shitty thing to say and sucks for the victim, but that's how it goes in real life. Probably most rape victims would like to keep it quiet, because it's a traumatic and shameful experience (even though one shouldn't feel shame for being a victim of such a horrendous crime), yet the media and police report these things every day.
So we’re supposed to out potential SA victims because you want to know what happened? Plenty of victims are kept anonymous in scenarios like this? If Jane Doe doesn’t want people to know she was harassed/assaulted at work she has that right. She reported it to the correct people and the situation has been handled. Just because Friedman isn’t tweeting what happened doesn’t mean journalism is a joke now.

He also isn't PPG bad either. McDavid being around 1.5-1.75 PPG. As tight as games are, that extra 3/4 of a goal can make a large difference in wins and losses.

I really like Rycroft and Moser has a perfect voice for broadcasting, but the whining about penalties has got to stop. If it weren't for that aspect, I don't think anyone would really have a problem. I know Moser uses a lot of phrases that bug people, but all PBP guys do that. You just normally don't notice unless you watch them a lot.

Rycroft has also become less crucial of the Avs since becoming the commentator, but I think that's more of a Altitude implemented thing.

Overall I'd rate them 5/10 would be 8/10 if not for the penalty complaining.

3/10 for me

Ryker is 5/10, he's not great but I don't hate listening to him.
Moser is 1/10. My beef with him is well documented.

Both of them are fantastic. Non-Avalanche fans whining about Altitude broadcasts for well over a decade now is an added bonus.

Did we ever find out why Haynes left?

I agree Moser has a great broadcasting voice. But yeah he’s grating man. The weird catchphrases and continual complaining about penalties. It can be a bit much for me.

He officially resigned but I'm pretty sure he was fired. Why, not sure, I guess they just wanted to move Moser into the TV booth. Kinda surprised he never netted another job, I mean FFS somehow Doug McLeod got another gig he screwed up in spectacular fashion. I was never a fan of his post-Norm Jones, but I figured he had an extensive enough resume to land work elsewhere.

I will reiterate even though no one cares that as much flack as the Altitude hockey crew gets, their team covering the Nuggets is top-notch, IMO one of the best in the nation.

Moser is fine for me. He's not great and is definitely bottom ten in the league for local guys, but I absolutely hated Haynes so he gets some slack from me for clearing the very low bar of being better at his job than Haynes was.

What I will say, the broadcast is definitely missing McNab. With all due respect to Ryker, he fits better behind the desk doing intermission reports.

I don't the Avs broadcast is really any worse than what you see around the league TBH.

Sure it can. It won't matter if the Oilers continue to be horrendous defensively and get bad goaltending.
The Oilers can certainly outscore their defensive issues and goaltending has a way of leveling. No team can sustain .860 goaltending... but no teams ever challenge that, even ones that are horrific in net. There is a regression to normals that happen. They simply get .890 goaltending (that'd be around 23-27 league wide) and the offense simply scores at their expected rate... their goal differential will move about .8 per game to their side. Which would have them winning a games a very high rate... to the tune of a 115-120 pace.

Even when things were even worse a couple weeks ago, their underlying was very good and near the top of the league. It still is that way today. People will scream about the regression to the mean for Vancouver... but the same is there for Edmonton on the other side. If they go 4-1-0 over their next 5, they'll either be in a wild card spot or within a couple points of one.

That doesn't solve the whole contending issue, but it solves the immediate get to the playoffs. On the contending... they could use some depth, but really they need two real pieces... a starting goalie and a reliable middle pairing RD. Both of those can be had and are not impossibilities to acquire in the season.

It's much ado about nothing. Other teams fans who hate our broadcast can suck it. Get a VPN, it's 2023.

The only people in broadcasting that bother me are the National people that are supposed to be unbiased, but are not lol.

It's been super obvious for a long time that our broadcasting wasn't going to be fair and unbiased. They neutered Ryker as soon as he was on more than while everyone was taking a piss or getting another beer.

According to sources, an alcohol-fueled incident involving Perry was alleged to have occurred in Nashville on Nov. 17, the night prior to Chicago’s game against the Predators, during a Blackhawks-organized corporate event that included sponsors and team employees in attendance. It remains unclear what allegedly took place, who witnessed it, and who reported it to the team.
Kaplan was told the incident occured in Columbus, but maybe timelines just got mixed with when the management was notified.

My daughter and I have a drinking game where we take a hit every time Moser says "No Call! I can't believe it!"

Interesting, Kane actually did get multi-year offers from other teams but opted for one year with Detroit, according to Wyshynski.
