You make a lot of good points. When Kesselring got traded, it felt pretty clear that he didn’t want to be here. Whether it was because he never wanted to be or because they never gave him him an opportunity, we’ll never know.
But you are also right that he barely got mentioned by media and Bob in particular. Lavoie has kind of got a similar treatment.
Thanks, I try :p. Yeh i was really suspicious at the time and thought something was up early on in that training camp. Made quite alot of posts on that subject actually at the time looking back on my posting history. Said stuff like this:
If Matt f***in Benning can be a 3rd pair d-man in this league, there’s no way Kesselring can’t.
Yeh they talk about Wanner a lot. But oddly, it’s like Kesselring doesn’t exist… despite being pretty impressive the last 3 or 4 showings now.
Org seems to be excited about Wanner. Seems like there’s no organizational excitement for Kesselring. Dunno why though, he looks solid every time out.
Kesselring played that perfectly. One day Stauffer might even remember his name.
Oo close. Kesselring always finds a way to get noticed (but not by anyone who works for the Oilers)
I wonder if Kesselring was a Marino type that would didn't want to be here. He was a decent prospect but it seemed like Oilers media never gave him much credit or attention, almost as if it was a foregone conclusion we'd include him in a trade.
