He always looked good in training camp. But the Oilers don’t know how to use their farm team so not a big surprise. Once you have a roster spot, its a done deal.
6'4 right-handed d man who can skate with the puck much better than Deharnais he looked great on Arizona 1st goal he carried the puck from their neutral zone all the way in and a nice pass over

Kesselring looks like a solid defender, looks like Oilers dropped the ball on another dman

It’s really too early to tell.

And I can’t really think of any prospect D they gave up on that they had a choice about (Marino wasn’t going to stay) that ended up any better. What was the last one, Schultz? He also wasn’t really any better, just better utilized

I ID'd two guys specifically from that training camp I thought looked good.

Hamblin and Kesselring.

And I'm almost certain Kesselring was a Marino situation where he wouldn't sign here. No matter how good Kesselring played Bob and company wouldn't hype him up like they would with almost any other prospect showing well. In fact when asked about Kesselring on his show, Bob would quickly change the subject. Oh well. More Oilers things. I'm happy with Vinny anyways.

Holy shit
If I'm not mistaken, with Di Giuseppe out, Vancouver is icing a team -
WITHOUT 1 CANADAIAN on it.

Wait until @Drivesaitl hears about this. He loves Canada's Team!!!

Edit - nope Juulson playing. 1 Canuck!
That's wild. They have always loved Americans and Swedish guys mainly

I basically don't even see them as a Canadian team

I couldn’t believe that so I checked the roster.

Canucks forwards this game:
5 Americans
4 Swedes
2 Russians
1 Latvian

Canucks defense this game:
3 Americans
1 Czech
1 Russian
1 Canadian

Canucks goaltenders this game:
2 Americans

There’s a club that needs to change their name. :shakehead

You make a lot of good points. When Kesselring got traded, it felt pretty clear that he didn’t want to be here. Whether it was because he never wanted to be or because they never gave him him an opportunity, we’ll never know.

But you are also right that he barely got mentioned by media and Bob in particular. Lavoie has kind of got a similar treatment.

Thanks, I try :p. Yeh i was really suspicious at the time and thought something was up early on in that training camp. Made quite alot of posts on that subject actually at the time looking back on my posting history. Said stuff like this:

If Matt f***in Benning can be a 3rd pair d-man in this league, there’s no way Kesselring can’t.

Yeh they talk about Wanner a lot. But oddly, it’s like Kesselring doesn’t exist… despite being pretty impressive the last 3 or 4 showings now.

Org seems to be excited about Wanner. Seems like there’s no organizational excitement for Kesselring. Dunno why though, he looks solid every time out.

Kesselring played that perfectly. One day Stauffer might even remember his name.

Oo close. Kesselring always finds a way to get noticed (but not by anyone who works for the Oilers)

I wonder if Kesselring was a Marino type that would didn't want to be here. He was a decent prospect but it seemed like Oilers media never gave him much credit or attention, almost as if it was a foregone conclusion we'd include him in a trade.

I hate them both. I would rather CGY have won this game, b/c I do not see them as any long term threat and we will breeze by them.

Demco looks shaken up
He looks drunk on those last couple Flamers goals. What a putrid game. Like amateur hour out there. Both teams being bad enough to lose. Thankfully no loser pts tonight, suck it Flames.

Whats the deal in Calgary anyway. They gave up on thier season at 20 game mark? I don't get why they expedited the Zadorov move and to a divisional opponent. Stupid on so many levels.

The Cansucks almost f***ed that up. Shocking
Calgary is playing with that "don't give up" attitude they had a few years back when they lead the league with a shit pile of 3rd period comebacks and then won it in OT or the SO.

I hate them both. I would rather CGY have won this game, b/c I do not see them as any long term threat and we will breeze by them.
But with a loss tonight, we can breeze by them sooner.
