Around the league 2022-23

i know mackinnon wasn't the guy he is now, but how did they not steal some more wins with some of those guys? goaltending and defense must have been awful

Calvin Pickard had a 2.98 GAA and a .904 SV% in 50 games and Varlamov had a 3.38 GAA and .898 SV% in 23 games. better than our goalies lol. they only had 7 players with 20 or more points
 
Arizona's rookie LW Maccelli scored two goals tonight to pass up McTavish in rookie scoring.

Beniers, 71 games and 50 pts (0.70 ppg)
Maccelli, 57 games and 43 pts (0.75 ppg)
McTavish, 73 games and 42 pts (0.58 ppg)
 
Jake Sanderson averages 21:30 and is on pace to break 30 points. Looks like he'll be a heck of a player. Played almost 28 min last night, and around 24 the previous two games

Amazing when teams don't rush a Dman to the NHL like Drysdale and Fowler.

Makar, Seider, Sanderson etc were given 2 years of development After being drafted and it looks like the best way to develop Dmen than throwing them to the wolves.

Finally living up to his #1 overall pick status. I do see that his 18.5% shooting percentage is way above his career norms, his first 30+ goal season. Either getting a lot of puck luck or being fed genius passes from McDavid on the PP. He does have 50 Powerplay points so that might be why, twice his career best of 26 powerplay points in a season.

Feels like the end is near for the Jets. Core's really gone stale there over the last few years, I think they should start re-tooling.
 
The kings are such a blackhole hockey team. Not good enough to get out of the 1st 2 rounds and not had enough to draft elite talent.

Took Turcotte and Byfield over Zegras and Stuezle haha

With zero cap space remaining I’m not sure how much better they can realistically get these next 2 seasons

Yep, they getting Minnesota'd and Dallas'd ( those teams were like that for the most of past decade).

They sucked for years to get nothing out of their #5 OV, and their #2 OV, the offensive juggernaut, has less goals this season than the defensive defenseman Sanderson taken a few picks later. Drysdale was taken amother pick later and has more career points than that #2 OV where they had Stutzle on the table...

I really wish that those young players of tyeir succees, but it's clear they missed out big time
 


man i would loved to get/have matthew tkachuk.... perfect player for the line up we have. Anyone that didnt watch game had 150+ penalty mins. Both tkahcuk brothers were all over the penalty sheet

they've got some good young talent, but they probably should have continued their rebuild and stockpiled more instead of cutting it short to satisfy their vets

byfield's still got time to live up to his potential, but the turcotte pick really bit them in the ass
 
Byfield has 3 goals in 50 games, Oof that sucks. 21 points in 50 games, less than half a point a game as the #2 overall from 2020.

He still has time but it’s becoming painfully obvious that passing on Stuezle is a massive whiff. He’d be their best player
