Yes. So if he doesn't sign on July 1 the rumors are gonna fly all over HF and the league.
I don't think he'd touch Arizona with their current outlook. It's the Kings I'm worried about. Matthews hits UFA at the same time Kopitar/Arvidsson/Walker/Roy all come off the books clearing nearly 20m. And the rumor I heard on Chiclets was that Matthews wants to be on the west coast.
I think he will stay in Toronto but I cannot pass an opportunity to troll Leafs fans when I get the opportunity, lol. #MatthewsToArizona

I'm really up in the air about what I think he will do. I do think he like it in Toronto. But after what Tkachuk did it really makes you realize he could pretty much call his own shot. He is quite the Hollywood type and he's from AZ, so getting closer to home and better weather could be quite appealing to him.

LA would need to dismantle the team for that to happen. Not nearly enough Cap Space to sign what he will want and pay for youth raises and resign some of those free agents.

also Arizona would never pay Matthews the money he wants. that franchise has no interest in paying actual big dollars to active players, they'll always be around for draft picks and taking on teams cap dumps for more draft picks lol
