He made a few really good plays last night, and tried some that would have been highlight worthy. He was rewarded for that so hopefully it sticks. 40+ points this year should be the goal.
Right now QB is one of the least of the team's issues. At some point in the near future, maybe not even this year, I think we will see a quantum leap in progress.

Yep. Took Vilardi 5 years to show he's a player, not worried about QB.

(I just wish there was more patience around here for these players to develop)

In fairness, the Kings are trying to win now so his lack of progress to date is frustrating but he is getting better...ideally, Kopitar plays the 3rd line shutdown role and the Byfield line (TM would never trust this in the D end) would include Vilardi and Fiala. Good luck stopping that.

Vilardi was drafted in 2017

He played 32 games in 2017-18
He played 4 games in 2018-19
He played half a season in the AHL in 2019-20

2020-21 was the weird Covid season
2021-22 he played 64 games between the AHL/NHL

He took like 2.5 years

Cool, now do those same stats for Turcotte and QB and tell us where we are at.

and FYI, you must be wrong because it's a stone-cold fact that the Kings org is unable to develop a 1st round draft pick. @Herby will back me up on this.

Sure, if you want to completely ignore opportunity cost and expectations at the time of the pick. If Bettman held a gun to BLuc’s head and forced them to draft Gabriel (not Gabe), then, yea a made up timeline makes total sense.

I suppose actual calendar days and alternative prospects don’t factor into context. Instead, people who think Vilardi has taken the first step in removing the missed pick label aren’t clued into the details.

LOL Muzzin, good lord that final few minutes of that game made the Kings-Knights game look like Jacques Lemaire hockey.

24 goals in 37 for Caufield since the coaching change. That is a 53 goal pace in almost a half seasons worth of games. I don't know, I guess not a "line driver" or a player who makes up "the spine of your roster" but that is pretty impressive goal-scoring numbers for a 21 year old.

Slaf is a big boy, man you don't normally see a teenager look that physically imposing. He looked pretty bad, but this will be a nice redshirt year for him and he will be good for them next year, when they likely also add another bigtime center prospect.Suzuki 23, Caufield 21, Slaf 18, whoever they get in this years draft will fit right now. I like what the Habs are doing, will be following right behind Ottawa in 2-3 years.

So awesome seeing Jack Johnson, in a Blackhawks jersey, out there celebrating with his Colorado teammates.

Looks like were not the only team to blow a tie game with under 30 secs. The Leafs looked worse than we did defending that play.

Sounds like should read a few posts over on the Toronto board. Not quite as entertaining as listening to the Vancouver post game radio shows during their short-lived appearance in the 2012 playoffs, but still worthwhile.

I'm pretty invested in Vancouver this year, I love their Top 9 and goaltending. Lets see how the D holds up.

wow, awful turnover by Holloway.

Would love to see what Kaliyev could do if he got the same treatment as Caulfield.

It's impressive for sure. I still assert he's more dependent on his linemates than is getting acknowledged. I'm not saying he's unskilled, but like Durzi, you take a lot of badcwithva lot of good.

However, St. Louis is good at mitigating the bad.

Muzzin's giveaway was brutal, but at least he had oncoming pressure to at least explain the blunder.

I love Kaliyev, one of my favorite players on the Kings and should have an increased role for sure, playing with better players and in better situations. But I think he is a couple of levels off from Caufield. There aren't many players in the league with a better arsenal of shots than Kaliyev, but Caufield is one of them.

I think the Oilers were down 2-0 before McDavid even touched the puck. Same old Oilers.

I think the Pacific division is going to be a lot better this year. These five teams Edmonton, Calgary, Vegas, LA, and Vancouver are going to be pretty good. Vegas with a full season of Eichel is going to be tough. Only weakness is their goaltending. Vancouver will be a lot better now with Boodrow. Tons of talent on that team.

The Muffin special.

Toronto is where ex-Kings go to die.

And nice officiating the NHL has in this Oilers game. How can 2 officials miss a player (the teams best player no less) around the puck getting high-sticked bad enough to cause blood?

It’s a PP too, which is crazier, not like it was a behind the play type thing. Bruce was pretty pissed and turning red.

McDavid has 701 points in 488 games. He's so good at hockey. Ovechkin didn't even have 650 in his first 500 games. Crosby had 706 and Lemieux had a mind-boggling 971.

...but Gretzky had 1,186 points through his first 500 games. Dude was on a different astral plane. Unreal.

Muzzin traded for Durzi. Back to back nights with turnovers in the last 30 sec to cost their teams. One a lefty, one a righty.
