The canucks are a mess, and I get Miller has been kind of a tool before, but the lack of effort from a professional is still actually shocking to me. He seems completely detached from reality to the point where you wonder if there's something more going on than is public.

I would agree, but this is 7 more years of someone who is apparently just disinterested in performing. You hope to be competitive by year 5 or 6 of rebuilding and then the cap space can disappear fast. By then, sure you can accept the guy being overpaid but you're at least hoping they can be a gritty vet showing the young players how to play the right way instead of whatever Miller is doing this year.

They could have presumably gotten legitimate future assets back for him this offseason before they signed him to that contract as well. It's just a mess, all around.
Eh you’re worrying too much. A ton would have to go right for them to be competitive in a rebuild in 5-6 years. Even if that happens (unlikely) who knows what the cap will be at not that it would matter since these kids would still be on ELC. Even so with a year or two left they could easily dump him to a bottom feeder for a 2nd round pick since the floor will be pretty high by then. Not to mention he could even be on ltir retire

I mean they’re not trying to rebuild though. That’s been abundantly clear.
I was only answering that poster I dunno what they are doing but the thinking a team rebuilding who is close to the cap with bad contracts will hurt their rebuild isn’t a problem.

Has @Bleedred seen this already? :sarcasm: Didnt have time to dig through multiple threads.

No way do I want him, as he's signed for next year I think. Isn't he also signed for the year after? Or just next year?

Definitely don't want him.

Was BAD last year. Him and Arizona deserved each other.

He's a little better this year, but turned back into a pumpkin in the last couple of weeks.

And oh yeahhhhh, he is is signed for 2 more years after this and at about the same cap hit as Blackwood's current cap hit.

Save percentage is below league average, but he's a +7.57 GSAx on evolving hockey. I have him down for a lower percentage of goals stoppable this year than last year, where he was terrible in every category from my stuff to save percentage to GSAx.

I only have him down for 25% of his goals stoppable this year. It was over 32% last year. My league average right now I think is just under 29%? It was about the same last year, but slightly lower. Like 0.25% lower or something.

Are you "Dying" on the hill that says that the shootout is like 3-on-3 overtime? wow...okay dude. :dunno:

BTW, I don't know if you have read that the GREATEST PLAYER IN THE NHL TODAY(McDavid) thinks the Shootout is dumb.

So I guess he's fighting on a so-called "dumb hill" also... :eyeroll:

But I guess you'd probably say "Well if he doesn't like the Shootout, he shouldn't participate" lol

I’m not saying I’m a fan of the shootout but two things

A shootout is absolutely more in line with hockey than what 3on3 has become. Noway can games end in ties again that was beyond stupid to begin with.

What the teams have done to 3on3 is further proof that you could make the game 4on4 full game and goal scoring won’t increase. You want to change 3on3 so you limit shootouts even more then you have to make it where a team can’t rag the puck and they have to advance it in x amount of time.
