Mario Lemieux: 100 Greatest NHL Players

That video was sick.... And yes, if there is any reincarnate player of Mario, Tage is the closest ive seen since.... Very very similar except Tage is even bigger. Lol

His ability to shift and combined with those hands and size. His moves also, to me, have a bit Datsyukian flair/timing to it as well when in tight. At speed he reminds me of Mario though.

Have to give Pronger his due though. Goonery aside, he was a hell of a defenseman.

I always liked that he would, once a game, put a shot on the opponent's net from his own defensive zone, just to make sure the goalie was paying attention. And he was so accurate that it almost never went for an icing despite the distance.

Lol, Pronger was 10x the shit bag and half the hockey player Stevens was.

Guy is still preaching goonery to this day and saying he would have attacked people for doing fancy shots.

Weird that Stevens got a large portion of his article devoted to a doctor decrying the legal things Stevens did but Pronger is written as if he’s a bad boy anti-hero whose dirty play is part of what makes him so special and interesting.

Even more strange that one guy talked to the person doing the story and the other guy didn't. Never change, sports media.

Is it just me or does this it feel like this year is completely wide open for Stanley Cup contention? I don't think Colorado is nearly as powerful as last year since they haven't really found an adequate replacement for losing Kadri and a few other depth pieces. Ditto for Tampa Bay who haven't replaced that magical third line they lost two years ago. Carolina hasn't proven they have enough offensive firepower to go deep in the playoffs. Toronto is Toronto. I don't think Winnipeg is a legit contender, same for Minnesota. Vegas is good but not head and shoulders above any other current top team. Pitt, Wash, NYR, Islanders, LAK, Seattle, Edmonton, Calgary...I don't consider any of those squads as legit to go on a deep playoff run.

Boston are obvious legit contenders, but are they as far ahead of everyone else as their record indicates? I'm not so sure.

If ever there was a season for a young team to make a magical opportunistic playoff run, it's this one. I really hope the Devils will be there for the chance.

Edit: I totally forgot about Dallas. I think they are legit. I could see them making a run.

Seems pretty bush league by Miller.
It's really hard to tell how much of an asshole he was being, as there's no sound. Not that we'd necessarily be able to hear much of him if there was.

It's really hard to tell what went on here.

There's a main board there about it and a lot of people said it seems like it's overblown.

He may not have been all that angry when he was doing it, but yeah it kind of does make Delia look stupid, who has played well for the Canucks, but they keep going back to AHL Martin, who played well for literally 5 games last year and that was it in his entire NHL career.

Colorado’s injuries have been bonkers.

Take a gander at this line-up.

the video in that story showing dallas own goal while pulling a goalie for a penalty reminder of how absolutely stupid and pointless pulling a goalie on a delayed call is. only time its worth it is if your on the powerplay and setup in the zone already by all means then

With how they changed the rules for neutral zone dump ins, teams should not be allowed to change when the goalie knocks the net off the moorings.

Too many times goalies are conveniently aggressive enough to knock the bet off when their teams are under pressure. Sometimes it just happens, but at least if you add that rule, it eliminates some of the accidentally on purpose collisions.

Oh yeah, I've talked extensively about this, but it was even worse than this lineup a few weeks ago.

There were a couple games earlier in the month where almost half of the players dressed were AHL players. And most of the AHL guys were like older journeyman AHL players or busts like Martin Kaut. They weren't even like prospect AHL'ers.

Looking at that lineup, I still spot several of them in Brad Hunt, Andreas Englund, Charles Hudon and former Devils property and legend Jacob MacDonald.

I remember the game where they played the Rangers and I think they lost 2-1 in a shootout was one where it was really glaring and there were even more AHL'ers than the lineup you posted.

Outside of just the injuries, I think losing Kadri and Burakovsky were big losses for them, but I think with a good deadline pickup they could be defending the cup again.

Newhook was supposed to be a good prospect, but has underwhelmed this year.

I don't like the Lemieux comparison because Lemieux was consistently over an assist per game. Tage has made progress, but last year he was sub .5 apg.

But the physique and hands certainly bare a resemblance.

Miller is a huge asshole to his teammates, he’s a player I so viscerally did not want that it made me queasy thinking about any rumors involving him.

Just an amazingly unlikable player, I hope the Canucks enjoy having this POS until he’s 37 because they were too stupid not to trade his ass.

Guy has 2 goals in his last 14 games and is yelling at the third string goalie who kept them in the game when he's the one circling back into his own zone with the puck. What a dipshit.

That third string goalie should really got a chance at being the second string goalie/first string while Demko is out.

Spencer Martin is more than likely worse than he is, but they're really trying to make him happen because he was a .950% in 5 NHL games played last year.

And he only even played 9 games in the league before this year and I'm pretty sure he's about 27 years old.

They're the next team that needs to Pheonix Copley somebody.
