Anyone who watched last night's game could see a combination of luck and amazing goaltending is the only reason Slovakia was in it. The game should have been over on the second period. By multiple goals.

Canadian shooters hit what?, 5 posts? And credit their goalie, made alot of great saves.

This narrative about Canada's team is somehow weak this year is just well off the mark.

I have no worries about their upcoming game against the Americans. Should be a good, hard fought game.
 
Vrana is on waivers. $5,25 mil cap hit, could he be the leftwing the Leafs have been missing? I havent followed his career but remember him being good with Hershey when I saw him play.

He's good when he's on his game. He's also gone through the players assistance program with help with certain off ice issues. He also carries a 5+ mil caphit next season.

Could be a tricky fit for the Leafs. Especially if he's still looking to find his game

If the Leafs have that Muzzin cap space available it may not be a bad claim at this point. He can just be waived again if he plays poorly.

Timing-wise it gives the Leafs a couple of months to see if they need to make a winger trade at the deadline or if Vrana could be that player.

It's seomthign to think about
