Would you want a Leafs player to do what Makar did? I'm conflicted.

Man, Buffalo gets hammered by snow like no place else.

Absolutely yes!

It means a lot more than just a 2 minute powerplay.

Of course, I think many here would be upset because they believe officiating is top notch and don't feel there is any reason to change it.

Watching Detroit Tampa game, the Wings playing on PP and half of that penalty time local commentators discussed Bunting vs ref episode. And people complain that hockey world revolves around Toronto.

I wonder if Cooper will blame this loss on the guys being in Toronto for 3 days?
Came here for this. Thanks for not disappointing ;-)
I would believe it, guy is pretty arrogant.....
He is a master with words, no doubt about it. Comes off as arrogant for sure, but there is always a purpose to what he says. That is the lawyer in him. If you listen to him enough times you will realize the Lightning have never actually lost a game they haven't 'given' away for some obscene reason... like being in Toronto for 3 days.

Since the start of the 2020 season:

Vasy: .919 save%
All the backups combined: sub .900 save%

Wonder what kind of team Tampa really is without him?

To be fair, their backups were all very cheap. McElhinney made $1,300,000 and Elliott only made/makes 900k.

I think Elliott has been good value for the money. His save percentage isn't great this year but Tampa is winning in spite of him and he had a respectable save percentage last year for a guy making 900k.

I think Elliott's career is probably done after this year though. I don't think he has much left in the tank, and Tampa likely turns to Alnefelt or the next guy who is approaching the end of their career and wants a chance to win a Cup (Jones, Talbot, Reimer, etc.)

I was playing a game against a guy I've known for years, and after the whistle we're side by side, so we pretend to give each other a facerub (we both wear cages), and the ref gives us penalties!

when your top 4 dcore consists of barrie, ceci and kulak . you dcore is just shit.
im amazed how people can take that club seriously with that dcore. poor campbell, even Shesterkin would look average behind that group.
My favourite thing was Oilers fans trying to flex how good Barrie and Ceci were for them the last few years and saying Leaf fans were wrong. We knew they were both trash and yet they were in denial about it all. I'm enjoying the schadenfreude now :D

They aren't as bad a Leafs fans say, nor as good as Oilers fans think.

Both parties have a perspective.

Kind of like how the Leafs are now sporting 2nd. best goals against, and it isn't just based on defensemen. It is a team aspect that determines team performance.

Forwards, defense and goaltenders along with accountability.

Sorry but I think if your team has Ceci on the top pairing or even top 4 you are in big trouble. Barrie has never been good at actual defense, even Colorado fans will attest to that. He is good offensively but when you have to shelter him and use him in a very specific way it hurts the team and defense overall IMO. I much prefer having three balanced pairings like the Leafs have that they can basically trot out any time against anyone these days.

Their problem right now is not really Ceci, or Barrie, or Kulak. If those guys were their 3/4/5 playing like they are right now, their defense would be fine.

They have a goalie who has continued his run of poor play for a full calendar year now. Fortunately they have a young guy who is stepping up in his place right now.

They don't have a top pairing at all. Nurse is sometimes good, but hardly enough for 9 mill and can be really bad far too often too. The rest of their guys are nowhere near even #2 caliber.

Bouchard and Broberg are complete disasters and bring down any pairing they are on, so EDM is lucky to have one functioning pairing per night.

And pretty much their entire forward group, including their two superstar players, do not know the first thing about defense.

They are a team that needs to take a swing at Chychrun. Give up Broberg, Puljujarvi, and your first for him, if not another 2nd in there too. It is a lot of upside but both of those young guys are struggling right now and I doubt ARI is going to turn down a couple of young former top picks and a first in a deep draft.

It won't solve all of EDM's problems, but at least it gives them a guy with the potential to boost the top end of their defense and be a #2 (although likely on a different pairing than Nurse). Nurse needs to play better. Bouchard needs to play better. Chychrun needs to stay healthy. If that happens, then maybe they can see some semblance of improvement in the team.

Never liked Barry being part of the Kadri deal.
Would have liked a defenseman included rather than Barry. Leafs already had Rielly, who is a part-time defender, more usual a rover.

Barry needs a young Hainsey to play beside.

Holl to EDM feels like it makes sense once were close to healthy.

Allows us to keep Benn and Timmins rotating in/out if the lineup

Given how many injuries we've had, I'd rather just keep him. He's stepped up big and played huge minutes while Rielly, Brodie and Muzzin have been out. Sandin is now on IR
