Still works for me.

@TSNHockey

Patrick Roy officially stepped down from his roles as head coach and GM of the QMJHL's Quebec Remparts on Tuesday, but a return to the NHL coaching ranks doesn't appear to be in the cards for now.

For what it's worth... I don't believe him. I believe something is up.

So see him at Scotiabank by Friday?

It seems like a foregone conclusion that PLD is going to end up in Montreal. I can't think of what the trade would look like at this point though. Thoughts?

It seems as though Hellebuyck, Scheifele, Dubois Wheeler and Niederreiter all have the potential to be traded this offseason. Rebuild time in Winnipeg?

They should just nuke it and rebuild around Morrissey, Ehlers, and Connor

Lots of potential to get assets in a hurry with Helle, Dubois, and Scheif trades this offseason. Then move Nino and Wheeler at the deadline.

How much life is there in Wheeler? Always like his game……..

He's certainly not an $8,25 mil player, that's for sure. He's 36, and a UFA at the end of the year. I don't think he makes much sense for us, when you have to pay retention.

I would imagine a trade for Dubois would involve the usual draft picks and most likely a center like Kirby Dach.

Not sure Montreal would move Dach now .. Maybe something like Dvorak + FLA's 2023 1st + Owen Beck

Late 1st rounder and a former high second round pick.

I don't know how much leverage Winnipeg has in a deal if Montreal is only where Dubois will go.

I dont understanding paying anythimg significant for dubois

You have your cornerstone centers already.. if you can bring him in as a ufa fine.. he isnt going to push them anywhere this year anyway.. waiting a year hurts nothing

And if he ends up somewhere else you still have your players

I dont get it

I'm not a fan of Laviolette at all. I'm not sure how he keeps getting jobs over and over again.

I don't know why they would go from Gallant to him... they seem somewhat similar in terms of being demanding. But at least Gallant has a lot of success in the regular season.

Only way I see it is if you run him as a winger until Tavares’ deal is up and think a Wilson-Matthews-Dubois line is enough of a culture shock to meaningfully update our style of game. One of Marner/Nylander is obviously gone here and you’d need a commitment from Dubois that starts with an 8.

Everyone wants out of Winnipeg.

I thought they drafted well so they have that going for them. But we'll see
But life without Helly is going to be tough.

They still got Pavel Bure....I mean Nik Ehler

Lav coached the Steve Webb Islanders back in the day! What a blood bath that series was! Glad the Leafs came out on top.

Steve Webb was nothing but a home warrior. Taking healthy runs at people
Dude was a nobody. Leafs had answers for weasels like him back in the day

Only player from that team I had any fear of was Eric Cairns
Other than that, entire team was bunch of fake tough guys with cheap shot specialists
