They are more likely to sign for 8 years now. Caps gonna raise by a lot for their next deals and their agents probably knew with Vegas being as huge as it is and the rumours of Seattle being the next expansion team that the cap would raise by a lot, so that's why they wanted only 5 or 6 year deals so they could sign for even more money and for 8 years because I doubt the cap raises a huge amount after this upcoming cap increase. Probably thought it'd go up sooner but obviously covid screwed that so now it'll raise at the perfect time for them.Yeah and look at the 2nd deals those players gave their clubs, all basically 8 year terms.
Theres zero chance Matthews and Mitch sign for 8 years.
