Vegas putting down the hammer...2 goals from their 4th line...Cassidy doing adjustments and putting 4 big forwards together on the 4th line...why can't the Leafs do that? Oh right, half the cap in 4 forwards.

You have to scratch your head why Kerfoot has been on the Leafs for so long despite taking $3.5 million in cap space...oh right, it's Dubas again...signed him for 4 x $3.5 million with a NTC in the final year.

He much does the Dallas 4th line earn compared to the Leaf 4th line?

Dallas had a big fat nothing the 1st period.
Pretty much steam rolled.

The sad part is the Leafs got the most out of their 2nd line in the playoffs the year that Kerfoot was centering it.

It’s fantastic but has nothing to do with the question.

Teams don't have to go cheap on their other forwards if they are not paying 4 forwards half the cap space, if that's where you're going...both Vegas and Dallas have gone much further in the playoffs the last 5 years compared to the Leafs under Dubas and his Core 4.

Yes there is more money to go around.
Is Vegas 4th line high paid compared to the Leafs? That seems to be what you alluded to in your original post. I have no idea which is why I asked.

Feel for the Dallas fans. Nothing worse than being in the building when your Team is eliminated.

Vegas is going to roll over Florida.

if this is the fourth line

They have 2 at 1.4 Kolesar and Carrier- Roy makes 3 million

Their 3rd line has 2 @ ~5 mill and 1 @ minimum salary.

ETA - the Leafs only had 2 players on their 4th line

Cassidy weaved some magic tonight and put Roy in the 4th line with Kolesar and Carrier

Roy makes $3 million, Kolesar makes $1.4 million and Carrier also makes $1.4 million. Obviously they have the right kind of players...they aren't small and soft...but they also have clutch players in Marchessault and Karlsson making $5 million and $5.9 million respectively, that the Leafs cannot afford because of the core 4. The problem will remain the same if Matthews gets overpaid again, then Nylander, and then Marner. These greedy and entitled guys can't be serious about winning the Cup if they want to stay around and bend the Leafs franchise over the barrel again.

This will be the first time ever a 10 M player wins the Cup

Both Eichel and Bob @10 even.
