Says he apologized to the kid in his statement. The kid was 13 years old and made a mistake. Unless he is still a prick, he should not be punished for the rest of his life.
The only apology he made was a court mandated one, and it was a f***in joke of an apology. He referred to the victim as "his friend".

He wrote an apology to 31 NHL teams before his draft. Let that sink in, he wrote an apology to 31 NHL teams before writing an actual apology to the victim and their family. He taunted and abused this kid for years (7 according to the victims mother, 2 years being after the court ruling). From consistently coming around his house and using racist words and taunting, spitting in his face, making him eat a lollipop that was dipped in a urinal. The mother has also stated that her son has long lasting trauma from all of this.

Now tell me, do you know many 14 year olds with this type of behavior?

Its only been two years since the yotes dropped his rights. The B's just gave this kid a $95k signing bonus.

As others have said I’m fine with second chances and everyone makes mistakes. If they accept the mistake and make amends and so on. But this case doesn’t seem like that and it just screams that there are far more issues with Miller. This isn’t the typical bully scenario that we all dealt with as kids. It’s far beyond that and he would have had to go above and beyond to prove he is a different person which he hasn’t.

We needed defense.
Did we? I thought prior to the start of the season we had too many defense and everyone was saying it was a strength of ours? We encounter injuries to Muzzin, Liljegren and depth pickups Benn and suddenly we needed more? What about depth on wing at the time? currently we have Robertson, who was drafted the year before, but otherwise the drop off to the next winger was pretty steep. In 2019 we had Johnsson, Kapanen, Hyman, Moore etc. Fast forward to to today when the picks from the 2020 draft are entering the league and our forward depth is as bad as our defense. We have Niemela and Liljegren as Rh defense, Sandin, Kral as future on D and on offense we have Robertson and Knies on offense? Who knows in a couple years we might not even have Matthews. Unless your picking top 3, its pretty difficult to determine what the landscape of your team will be when the player you pick enters the league. Unless you already have a pile of bluechip forwards drafted year's immediately before (which we didn't).

For this reason I thinks its always best to go BPA. If Amirov was a Hossa....as some described as potential. We could use that player too and we trade Marner or Nylander for defense help. It's too early anyways... Reminder that around here people would've unanimously agreed to building a statue for Schenn after his first year.

Our pick has an illness, so its easy to selfishly say in hindsight it was a bad pick. However, if he was playing for NY and had a ppg, Wed be hearing posters say Dubas made a mistake with Schneider.

Rangers already had a good defense when they drafted him .
They just think differently than our managers team.
He probably didn't have good a good enough corsi .

Islanders aren't to bad

He was also, at least according to public rankings, ranked lower than where the Leafs were slates to pick. And something like 3 or 4 teams also passed on him following the Leafs selection.

For all we know if the Leafs had a second choice behind Amirov it may have been someone else entirely

Whatever the Leafs are, they didn't sign that kid.

Revolting move by the Bruins. The Bruins board is unanimous in their dislike of the move, good on them.

This seems like something the Bruins will immediately regret and this kid will never sniff the NHL
I saw it...and I was pissed. Good on the Bruins boards for also being absolutely freaking pissed at this signing.

You know its bad when Sweeney himself is like "I don't know if I would forgive if it was my own kid" DUDE THEN WHY ARE YOU SIGNING!?

I am all for giving people a chance but dude didnt even apologize properly.

Will be curious about the Bruins' Annual Hospital Visits if he makes the NHL. You think he pulls out the kid's IV drips to lighten the mood or does he refill a patient's water canteen from the toilet as a practical joke?

I really don’t understand why the Bruins signs him.
Unless he breaks out and be a top player in the league, which I doubt, there is no reasons to take a gamble on this kid unless it is returning a favor to his agent or the kid got connections with the Bruins owners or Upper MGT.

Say what you want about Bruins fans, but they are really showing up against this decision.

Yeah i would atleast understand it if the kid was some dynamo.. but still

Just so not needed.. they dont need him why even consider the baggage for something not needed

They like jerks and they like defensemen.

I suspect their management considerably underestimated the negative public attention it would bring

I think so too. If we are going by the sound bite comments, Sweeney is already telling the public it is not his decision.
Also I believe that the leaders of the Bruins asked why. I hate Marchand but both him and Patrice are not a hole. Still remembered the Hawks thing last season and the words coming out from those two were something like ‘if this happened to anyone past or present, come to us(Marchand and Patrice) and will help you.’

Do they have internet?

Idiots
They were really stupid. To be honest, I actually forgot about this MM and after today, it all came back to me from two years ago when we first heard of what happened.

Idiots
They sure the hell found out when the fans flooded fan relations with emails and phone calls and sth threatened non renewal. It is lead story on every news station in town and the flagship station here railed on them for hours.

Management knows. This fanbase won't be quiet about it.

Bergeron's body language and words in his interview were 100% telling he's not happy. You can bet that Marchand is none too pleased either. Our leadership core questioned the signing and these idiots did it anyway.

A monumentally stupid, tone deaf signing.

Sweeney and co. stuck in the 1980s where something like this would've been chalked down to boys will be boys.
Never ceases to amaze me how tone deaf some of these people in management can be.
