I’m pretty sure they don’t reseed until the conference finals. You’re in your division “pod” no matter what the first two rounds.I know the rules are weird but I don’t . If a WC team wins then surely they reseed.
I know the rules are weird, but theyd have to reseed if a WC team wins. Or is it only if the two WC are from the same division.

Oh my God Calgary come on.

Wherever the Wildcard team ends up they’re in that Divisional bracket regardless of seeding or if it’s not their division. As it stands now the Isles should they beat Boston in this hypothetical would face the winner of Leafs-Lightning.

Like take last season in the Western Conference. The four second round teams were Colorado (119 pts) and St. Louis (109 pts) in the Central, and in the Pacific it was Calgary (111 pts) and Edmonton (104 pts). If it re-seeded in round 2 Colorado would've gotten Edmonton and Calgary would've played St. Louis.

Or better yet, in 2017 when the WC Rangers beat the Atlantic winners in Montreal, re-seeding should've seen them go back to the Metro bracket to play Washington, and Pittsburgh would've hosted Ottawa given the Pens had more points. Instead the Rangers stayed in the Atlantic to play Ottawa, with Ottawa as the higher seed and hosting Games 1 and 2, despite the Sens having fewer points, they ranked higher in the Division.

Flames trailing the Hawks.

Flames have to win games.

Kadri getting absolutely pilloried for his play on the 2nd. Hawks goal ... looked worse than Nylander.

I think Flames with better goaltending are comfortably in a playoff spot. I know a few of their stars are producing well but their goaltending has been atrocious.

Maybe, but their highest paid forwards have been pretty trash. Even if they're in the playoffs with better goaltending, they'd still be a lot worse than LA, EDM, and VGK. Just doesn't seem like their stars and Sutter are on the same page.

5 shots total, both teams in a period? That’s crazy. I can’t seem to find if there are records anywhere for such a thing, but that’s got to be close.

… and Calgary puts up 34 shots, Mrazek saves 31.

Chicago puts up 23, Markstrom only saves 19. 0.826 Save percentage.

Calgary are a decent team, and Markstrom historically a very good goalie… but this year, he’s been their main problem.

They have no real eite stars which is why the always have to outshoot everyone by a lot to score

That’s right. Creating rivalries left, right, and centre.

With the stakes so high, how could Nazem Kadri’s engine run so low last night?
Disengaged as part of a season-long adjustment to his new coach, his two egregious giveaways led to a loss to Chicago the Flames are unlikely to recover from.
My take:

They wouldn't be the first team playing to get the Coach fired.
Players are probably looking at it as short term pain for long term gain.
