Around the League - 2022-23 Season Edition

It doesnt matter as long as the Leafs win the Cup. You can't hope for other teams to decline in order to have better chance, because there will always be another team that does well. Even in the West now, it is a lot easier than the East but when it comes to playoffs, you get McD in Edmonton that can steal the series on his own, Helly, Ottinger, Quick and Markstorm who are capable to steal a series, then there is Makar, Mack and company, thats 6 teams right there.
Are they easier then say Bruins, TB, Canes, Rangers and Devils, for sure but even if the Leafs is in the West, it doesn't mean they are automatically in the Cup Finals or in the 2nd round. The guys still need to show up and win 4 games each series.

Point is they have the ability to do it esp Quick who has a chip on his shoulder now with a much better D core in front of him in Vegas.

Orlov never strikes me as an offensive Dman. Wonder if he will have the same offensive outburst if he is a Leafs.

Honestly, I just have a weird feeling that AM will walk to the Bruins at UFA and then become Bergy 2.0 and lead Bruins to two straight Cups. Then McD will come home and win 5 straight, lol.

Lets not hope Sabres make the playoffs bc it will be a sweep for the Bruins. Islanders with Soro in net got a chance and Pens with Sid got a chance too

Is Ottawa going to make the playoffs?

Seems like no one wants the bottom 2 spots. Teams get close then fall apart.

How will they clear the $14 million in cap space in a year needed from now, when they have to bleed off assets this summer in a retool because of the bonus overages for Bergeron and Krejci?

Even my buddy - a staunch Bruin fan that you want to smack around - says they will take a huge hit when Bergeron and Krejci are done.

We'll take the McDavid angle though. LOL

THe key part was the McDavid thing, lol.
Like I said, if the Leafs win a Cup, I really don't care who is on the team and how much they get paid and even how they win, lol.

Expected, bc they are changing their styles a bit to fit Kane and Tank.
Same with our boys, with ROR at 3C while adding guys like Lafferty and Acciari with McCabe and Schenn in the back, the style and system will change and the team will need to adjust.
