Agree with the first part, still a bit hesitant about the second part.

Mario lemieux is the best/greatest to ever play hockey

At 37/38 coming off retirement in 2001 he was about as good as current McDavid is

IMO, he’s the best of all time.

It is hard to beat those four.
Lemieux will always have the what if due to his health.
Orr is a Dman and personally I would rank Lidstorm up there with him.
Howe is Mr. Hockey.
Gretzky is Gretzky.

To me my number 5 is Lidstorm or Brodeur

McD needs to do a lot more to dethrone those guys, like not just individual accomplishments but also bring Hockey and NHL as a sports to another level like how MJ did with basketball.
I believe that part of MJ being the GOAT is not only what he had done on the court but also how he brought Basketball into a World Wide Sports that can challenge and might even overtake Football.
