What I took away from the NHL all-star game without watching much was that Boston's Ullmark and TB's Vas were the Atlantic goalies and as such also going to be the ones standing in the way of the Leafs playoff hopes again in rounds #1 & #2 .

send them on a world tour. back to back nights china and morocco get it done
Think it might have to do with their team culture, more like team leadership where the players will be on their best behaviour instead of going out to places where they should not go. Kind of like some of the guys on the Redeem team or another Team USA, who some reporter took picture of them going into massage parlour in Macau when they went there for exhibition.

Not me, but too each their own.
Never a fan of the half assed games. Probably why IMO Baseball has the best All Star game, they play half assed most of the season.
Format wise, I like the Pro Bowl bc it is the end of the season, don’t really like it when they change to before the Superbowl though.
Baseball is still a regional sports despite the current social media age.
Do agree with your comment of Baseball All star game though. Still can’t believe some of the injuries from Baseball players like a sprained pinky, lol.

The pro bowl is a slight step up from a high school Thursday walk through.
No doubt about it. I think it is the best mainly bc it is the end of the season thus players should be there and doesn’t reward players who were just good for a few months.

wohhh who knew about this? I didn't...

And they hired Torts, lol.

With how absolutely terrible the NHL Skills Competition was on Friday, they should just copy the AHL's layout next year.

It's much, much better. They did a great job tonight. Keep it simple.

Anyone following Chychrun on Instagram would assume so based on Chychrun’s recent actions. On Saturday, February 4th, Chychrun removed the Arizona Coyotes from his Instagram bio. He then started following Toronto Maple Leafs players such as Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner, and Michael Bunting.

This is interesting.

S'okay, how many would guess Willy is leading Matty by 3?

Player on your own team who is underrated/underappreciated?

Mitch Marner, Toronto Maple Leafs: I don't know if it's underrated, but obviously 88 [William Nylander], just what he's done this year has been awesome to be a part of. He's made our team very successful. I don't know if it's undercover or anything, but Willy's obviously done some great things for us.

He is pulling chains with gusto.

What a joker!

A buddy of mine who grew up a big Ronnie Francis fan who as we all know now is GM of the Seattle Kraken.

Well long story short as we all know the only 2 teams that have never won a playoff round in a salary cap era are the Leafs and recent expansion Seattle Kraken.

My buddy wants to bet me $500 that Seattle will win a playoff round before my Leafs and I'm actually hesitant to make that bet.

This chart that gives an expansion team > odds then the Leafs has not helped my decision making process.

Would you make that bet at even odds as it seems like a trap bet to me, but in comparison to the 2 teams head to head it seems like easy money?

I don't know... I mean, if the playoffs started today, their opponent would be Colorado....

Yeah, Leafs have to go through Tampa and then Boston to win the Cup.

Seattle has to go through who?

"My Leafs" cracks me up.

Exactly, well sort of ( as your on the right thought path anyways) as its actually Dallas that would currently face the WC#2 Avs and Seattle take on McDavid as WC#1.

However its Seattle currently leading their Div and the Stanley Cup champs Colorado currently in a WC spot as well as the high scoring Oilers that makes this seem enticing, but a lot can happen and Seattle could end up with a much easier 1st round opponent. While its all but likely Leafs vs. Tampa Bay rematch I'm facing is looked in stone essentially.

Seattle could easily still miss the playoffs this year which makes it feel like a fools bet on his part at even odds, but still feels like a trap despite how currently things stand and outcomes available considering match-ups.

PS. I suspect he is banking on neither Edmonton nor Colorado sit in WC spots come end of season, just using that as red meat for me to take the bait as of now. :wg:

Maybe he's getting bought out and signing here for the same contract he's currently on except we get him for free..... Maybe :sarcasm:

I'd say Marner's overrated at this point. I mean he's a great player, had a few sub par playoffs but since the beginning of last season he's been fantastic. That said, seems like a ton of people here consider him a top 5 player in the league and he's more like on the fringes of being a top 10 forward.

I looked at the scoring leaders the other day, something I almost never do because team success is all that really matters but what can I say, no games to watch so I guess I'm just bored. Now that these lists have the flags next to them I noticed something I otherwise wouldn't give any thought to but I wonder, if we were talking about scoring leaders that would play for Team Canada, I think almost everyone would know that the leading scorer under the Canadian flag is McDavid. But if I told you that there are 4 players tied for second (and tied for 11th overall), and those players are Marner, Crosby, RNH and ... ????

How many of you would be able to say who the other player tied for 2nd on the scoring list of top Canadians is?

Then if I told you that that player was Zach freaking Hyman, how many of you would say your minds are blown?
