F*ck cancer - RIP Fugu and Buffaloed
Damn the Panthers are torching the Lightning tonight 7-1
Kadri will come for revenge. Whenever he got lit up or embarrassed he'd go hunting
Surprised Vas is playing considering he was in the All-star game..Tampa down 7-1 to Florida. The comments about our team would be something if we had a game like that.
Also cups doesn't make it acceptable. That is a terrible game and doesn't make it better no matter what history you have.
I wonder what excuses Jon Cooper will have tonight why the Lightning played a horrible game?Tampa down 7-1 to Florida. The comments about our team would be something if we had a game like that.

That's an good point. After our elite players, he was pretty much the highest scoring guy we had as well IIRC so yeah, that's not bad.True, I would have expected at least Matthews to be ahead, but at the same time, Zack is only fourth in scoring on that team.
Who's fifth for Toronto, despite minimal PP time, and actually fourth at even strength?
A good grinder playing with elite linemates.
Seems pretty clear those guys were wrong, not much else to say to that. You speak of opportunity and did you know Marner has 6 PP goals and Nylander has 7 PP goals on the season but Zach Hyman has 13 PP goals which is the same as both Leaf top scoring players combined.
I asked this recently in this thread and the general answer was Zach would never get that pp time in Toronto because he isn't talented enough to play of the powerplay when here.
Now that's the kind of stat I like. And Nylander (758:56 - ES TOI) is only 3 Even Strength goals behind McDavid (864:09 - ES TOI).
Willy is actually ahead of McDavid in Pts/60 at 5on5.And Nylander (758:56 - ES TOI) is only 3 Even Strength goals behind McDavid (864:09 - ES TOI).

Generally players (goalies in particular) are allowed to ease back into play.
Igor Shesterkin not dressed for NYR, and goalie Ilya Sorokin of the New York Islanders also not playing tonight for example.
Every game that we play without Muzzin makes me sad.Great hit. I miss the Leafs having those type of players.
I was surprised when Leafs GM Burke drafted Morgan Rielly @ #5 for the Leafs and did not take the big bruising American Dam Jacob Trouba with the Leafs pick who went to Winnipeg at #9.Great hit. I miss the Leafs having those type of players.

With all the talk of pugnacity and beligerence I thought for sure Trouba was becoming a Leaf.. Today he is the exact kind of Dman the Leafs are missing particulary with Jake Muzzin out.
Glad he took Rielly as well but I doubt very much he'd have an issue playing here.Glad Burke took 44 because Trouba would have asked out of Canada and we'd have been hosed like the Jets were.
Glad he took Rielly as well but I doubt very much he'd have an issue playing here.
I'm sure I'm not remembering but who was the last Leaf to ask to leave?
Could be. If he just hated Winnipeg I doubt he would come out and say it.Trouba wanted out in order to be closer to his GF who was studying in the States. I don't think it would have made any difference.
The most recent former Leafs player who requested a trade was Nikita Zaitsev.Glad he took Rielly as well but I doubt very much he'd have an issue playing here.

Mikheyev asked to leave a few years ago and Dubas said noGlad he took Rielly as well but I doubt very much he'd have an issue playing here.

I don't recall that. Was that because he wasn't playing enough?Mikheyev asked to leave a few years ago and Dubas said no
Yeah I read he wanted a bigger role. Leafs didn’t want to give him up as their LW depth was shallowI don't recall that. Was that because he wasn't playing enough?
Yeah, that's a different thing, nothing to do with the city or team.Yeah I read he wanted a bigger role. Leafs didn’t want to give him up as their LW depth was shallow
