Wishing to not participate does not equate to active steps to protest in the least.
Protesting does not just mean marching in the streets or organizing rallys. He refused to participate in a normal team activity specifically because of an initiative that supports a group of people's right to safely participate in hockey and not face exclusion because of how they were born. His actions spoke pretty loudly. We are clearly not going to agree.

Then we should turn our attention to the thing that we should actually be outraged about: when the hell is Boston going to start losing? this is getting absurd at this point. I keep thinking they will have a massive regression to the mean event but Im starting to doubt that as they don't even seem to be benefitting from luck really.
Honestly, at this point I'm hoping they're peaking too early. Everyone on their roster is playing at their best + Ullmark is running away with the Vezina

With that said, I think I'd pick the winner of Toronto/Tampa over them. My only concern is how beat up will the winner of our series be, it's going to be another long one

If Boston is peaking too early what are the chances of seeing a repeat of 2019 when Tampa Bay had a regular season record of 62-16-4 for 128 points, finished 1st overall, and got swept in the first round by Columbus.

Now I highly doubt that happens to Boston, but the way they are currently playing reminds me of the 2018-19 Lightning.

Just a really good team from top to bottom. They'd be easy to envy if they and their fans weren't so dislikable.

Heck, even Boston themselves kind of ran away with the President's trophy in 2019-2020, and then ended up being beaten pretty convincingly in the 2nd round.

Zach Hyman seems to just keep getting better with age. Sure he gets to play with McDavid/Drais, but still, hes having an insane season rn.

In 45 games he has 21 goals, 50 points, and 175 SOG. His highest SOG in a season was 213 last year in 76 games.

Woulda loved to have found a way to keep him.

2019-20 Was weird because of how things went with Covid and the bubble. Yes, Boston did end up winning the President's Trophy. However because of the mini round robin tournament, they didn't end up as the #1 seed in the Eastern Conference despite that.

To be clear, as far as I know, people are born one of two ways.
Caesarean or vaginally.

He'd be great on the 2nd. line with marner and Tavares.

Need a new Cap System.

Rangers are probably too far ahead or else I would've liked them to play Boston in the first round. One way to beat them is to have a brick wall in net lol

I won't have my hopes up if it's PIT or WSH

I like to think it's them being consistent because he said one of the refs has a personal beef with him.

Now if the Leafs had anything to do with it, what if the Panthers had played the Coyotes and the same calls happened, does the NHL even care? So how much more attention does this get since it happened in Toronto?
I don’t know the answer to that but I am glad more coaches and even players like McD are openly criticizing the league officials and its rules.
