Just think how much people wanted him a year or so ago. Woof.
Vancouver could have been in a decent spot if they had traded him, such a terrible decision to re-sign him. They would've had extra picks/prospects, but most of all they'd have 8 million in cap and a lockeroom cancer far away from their team

They have completely screwed themselves longterm with this one. I don't know how you get out of it

They can still trade Miller to any team since his NMC doesn’t kick in until July 1st but I don’t know how many teams would want to risk it with that contract and the drama round him

So Stuart Skinner somehow gets into the ASG

I look it up and he has the 18th best SV% amongst goalies with 10+ GP

.. what’s even sadder is that’s the best SV% in the Pacific. And he is only 1 of 2 goalies in that entire division with a SV% above .900. Vladar is the other.

McDavid is crazy good but he’s feasting on that divisions horrid goaltending. Like that division is astonishingly weak.

No love for the unknown Vegas goalies :(

But yeah, that division is truly awful. At least the first two playoff rounds should feature some barnburners lol

I have the same worries with Towes this year, adding a guy who needs to be top dog in the room 3/4 of the way through the year is a risk even if the on-ice play is fine. It’s one thing if it’s a Messier being that guy, but it hits completely differently when it’s your 5th or 6th best guy.

They have to lose the trade now.

A couple of Canuck fans who are buddies would love nothing more than to lose a Miller trade in order to keep Horvat.

With OEL and Myers being one of the worst pairings and both on bad contracts it is going to take a miracle to turn that ship around

There's only one thing that can potentially save them. It won't eliminate the bad contracts, but I think it'll be somewhat of a reset and finally inject some positivity into that organization.

They just need to keep losing and then pray to the lottery gods lmao

100%.

I actually wouldn't mind Bedard going to the Canucks. Good story for the NHL in general.

Yeah. It just seems like there are a lot of particularly bad teams this year, particularly in the Western Conference. Edmonton and Calgary both in wilcard spots, the Avalanche, Blues, and Predators all on the outside looking in, and a wack of rebuilding teams competing in the Bedard sweepstakes (Chi, Ari, SJ, Ana).

The Bedard race is heating up.

=""

It's actually incredible that only 20-30 games into the season, the Ducks, Coyotes, Canucks, Hawks, and Sharks pretty much had zero shot left at making the playoffs or being competitive in any shape or form. So many tank teams in one conference. In the East only Columbus has truly been out of it from the beginning. For a while even the Habs were in it.

That’s fine worthy? And Nino’s hit on Kampf is nothing?

NHL is currying favours to Maurice after his whining to the media.
At this point I just laugh at how inconsistent Parros is with the decisions he makes.

The fact that Florida got 8 power plays last night after Maurice complained about them, you think it would have been the opposite effect and they would get 1 or 2 at the most.

$25k well spent.

Besides the game against the Panthers when the Leafs had 7 power plays, did Keefe's $25,000 fine get them any extra power plays after that happened?

I'd have to look into that... I'm just referring to the one Panthers game after his fine/comments.

I am completely disgusted by the Canucks treatment of Boudreau.

Not that I was ever going to cheer for them to do anything anyways, but I want that organization to go down the tubes at this point. What a revolting way to treat someone.

It's truly disgusting. Bruce is a good coach who has put in a lot of good years in this league, he deserves better than that shit stain of an organization.
