Haha, I get what you mean, for sure, but for the individuals, I have to root for them
Who knows, 2, 5, 10, 15 years time, he could very well be a Maple Leaf!
I think they have an incredible scouting staff but their development on young players has to be one of the most questionable ones.

Damn Carolina one win away from tying the all time record for wins to start a season

Canes with a couple early in the 3rd and then hung on for dear life to win.

They’re off until Sat when they play Florida.

Yup this just in the Canes are for real and take their record to 9-0-0 behind Freddy Andersen 8-0-0 record & 1.50 GA/G and .949 sv% virtually 1st or 2nd in all goal stats.

Looks like Eichel will go to Vegas. Krebs, Tuch and some picks going the other way.

Its official now.

Buffalo Sabres trade Jack Eichel to Vegas Golden Knights

Jack Eichel will get artificial disk replacement surgery as soon as this week after being traded from the Buffalo Sabres to the Vegas Golden Knights on Thursday morning, sources told ESPN.

The return for Buffalo is Peyton Krebs, Alex Tuch, a 2022 first-round draft pick and a 2023 third-rounder, sources confirmed. Vegas will also get a 2023 third-round draft pick as part of the deal.
No salary is retained by Buffalo in the deal, sources told ESPN. The deal, which is pending a trade call, was first reported by TSN.

Sources: Eichel traded to Vegas, to have surgery

Freddy is starting to look tired already.

I don’t know if this will work out for Vegas. Maybe they activate a freshly healthy Eichel for the playoffs a la Kucherov but I’m guessing the reshuffling they’ll have to do to their roster for next season will severely change the makeup of their team.

This Ho-Sang article is pretty timely
Josh Ho-Sang was misunderstood. Now, he’s happy and playing the game he loves

I hope Caulfield figures it out
Sometimes players are promised a certain level of opportunity that isn't lived up to when you are trying to get NCAA players to sign given the leverage they have of being able to be UFA's if they wait it out. That can occasionally cause issues if those promises aren't lived up to, even if the team is "in control" at that point.

Vegas is interesting, they got off to such an amazing start as a franchise based around fast, hard-working, under dogs.

Since then they've been in on or often acquired any big name that's been available. While Stone fits the mold of the team they originally built, Pacioretty, Eichel, Pietrangelo aren't exactly players who fit that identity. Great players but they might be getting too far away from what made them so good so fast.

Then they got suckered into taking Boychuk off the Islanders' hands (and actually giving them something), just so they could reach the cap floor.

Senile Lou now has 2M and counting in cap space, just for saving his owner money.

Except they did give up anything to get Boychuk. Mutually beneficial trade, with no cost.

I'm excited to see him in the playoffs (as long as he isn't playing the Leafs lol).

He was too good of a player to waste his prime years never seeing the postseason

Bergeron with four goals tonight, Brock Nelson with four too... first time since 2005 two different players have four goals each on the same night.

Nice to see the Habs lose again.

I'd like them to dig a hole that's too hard to come back from but then end up outside of the top 10 of the draft.
