Hughes getting 8 million a year while not breaking 40 points so far in his career really does make all our contracts look a lot better lol kinda wild seeing the coping going on with Devil fans to justify this contract.

Looks like Freddy is back to his old self.

He ran into a buzzsaw that is the Pavelski-Hintz-Robertson line. Holtby was also really good tonight.

Stars have won 5 in a row, including wins against STL, COL, EDM, and CAR.

Hintz - 9 points
Pavelski - 8 points
Robertson - 6 points

Benn - 2 points
Radulov - 2 points
Seguin - 0 points

I was today years old when I learned a career high of 11 goals can earn a centre 8 million a year...
Ya some of the contracts based on potential are getting nuts. Its like RFA years are worth double what they used to be

In former Leafs news, Galchenyuk is having a poor season. He was injured to begin the year but in the 9 games he has played he’s only racked up 2 assists. At this rate he’ll be KHL bound next year. Maybe he should’ve taken whatever deal the Leafs offered him instead of thinking he was hot shit after three months of play and f***ing us over in the playoffs. Now he’s wallowing on an awful Arizona team and has zero chance of building up any real value for another contract.
I have a soft spot for him but damn that sucks to hear and see tbh.

I never realized how bad Seguin’s contract is.

9.85 mil for the next 5 seasons after this one, plus an NMC

0 points in his last 5 games, all of which have been wins for The Stars. They outscored opponents 18-6 in that span & Seguin’s +/- was 0

Many wrote off the Panthers playoff performance last year and did not think much of Ekblad being out of their line up. But look at him and the Panthers now. Ekblad 6g and 14a and +18.

Ekblad's a stud who has taken some pretty bad injuries over his career but is making a great case for him to be on Canada's Olympic roster this year.

I dont think the fact he has only a single playoff point in 10 games over an eight-year career will be held against him.

1 point in 10 playoff games is terrible but I'd like to see what he does this year if he is healthy and they do not meet the Lightning in round #1. Winning the Atlantic is the key for Panthers and Leafs.

Taylor Hall Shares What Jake DeBrusk Told Bruins About Trade Request

“He talked to us this morning,” teammate Taylor Hall said after the game.
“He just said, ‘I love you guys. This is something in my career that you know I’m at a crossroads,’ and he’s gonna have to do. But he’s not a distraction at all. It’s almost better that it’s out there, you know, you have a day to kind of digest that and Jake’s a great kid. He’s got a lot of skill and he’s gonna have a good career in this league. And as a group, as an organization, I think you deal with those distractions head on and and you just go play the game and that’s the culture. That’s the model that we have and whoever’s in you got to play well. That’s what we said this morning. We expect Jake to play as well as he can, even under the circumstances.”

DeBrusk seemed to fall out of favor with Boston last season, and Sweeney let on that he’s been aware of the request for some time.
