Frederik Andersen stats since he joined the Canes:

1.33 GAA .956
174 Shots Saved (29 average over 6 games)
1 assist
6-0 record

The Toronto goalie curse is real and so is the media and fan hot takes on players.

Sutter has done an amazing job turning around what was a fairly meh Flames team.

He tends to out welcome his stay very fast with teams. I will say though they did well with their moves in the last couple years.

I am very sad we did not go after Tanev. He's been good for them.

Freddy was terrible in October here but was great in November. He still has to prove he can do it in the playoffs though.

Lack of a good backup killed Fred here. Body just couldn't keep up after 5 straight years of carrying the goaltending especially with that horrible defensive unit when Babcock was here. The guy was playing on one leg and was mentally burned out last season. Covid stuff probably played a role in the mental aspect as well. Piled on to the physical issues.

I don't think Fred was cursed here. He was a beast for us and covered up a lot of our defensive issues. I think if Canes get into that 60+ game range they'll encounter the same problems we had with Fred burning out when it matters. If they can keep Fred closer to that 45-55 range they're good. It's about understanding your assets and using them properly. Fred played 66-66-60 and was on pace for 60+ again in year 4. Yikes. His playoff numbers with that covid break are lights out the forwards let him down.

Healthy fresh Fred is a whole tier on Campbell in my opinion. The question is will Fred remain that way. Let's see how the Canes handle it. They have Raanta there who can handle 30-40 games so odds are high Fred stays healthy and is used properly at this stage of his career. I was hoping for the same here. Fred around 50, Campbell takes 30 and then Andersen gets all playoff games :(

Must feel like I'm following you around today but I feel strongly about this.

Fleury. Playoff numbers are very bad after 2009. Wonder if those 60+ GS streaks have anything to do with it.
Holtby. Caps finally win the cup when Grubauer helps with regular season load.
Vasilevskiy. Best goalie in the league. To this day has never had a load like Andersens.

You nailed it 100%. Insult to Fred to be grouped with Campbell at this stage. Campbell has a lot to prove still.

Happy to see Andreas Johnsson having a nice start to this year. Was terrible in 2021 with 11 in 50.

Has 5 pts now in 6 games for the devils. He's a very solid player when healthy.

Hoping we can see Anderson become a regular soon, so we can get some on-ice value from that deal instead of it being a soft cap return just to align our space to be able to sign Brodie/whoever we signed in 2021.
