I think the fact that he flew to Florida instead of Detroit(where the rest of the team), is quite telling.
I am interested to see the next steps after Chevy. What will the NHL do? Bc this is far from over.

If Andersen wins Vezina (has to be favorite 6 games in) and the Canes win a cup or make the finals

Is it enough to make the HHOF?

He should stil have another good to great season or two after this year? Will retire with 350+ wins most likely

He has never won a game 7 so let’s get over that hurdle first
 
Still have trouble wrapping my head around the fact that Aho makes $2.4M less than Marner.
 
High hockey IQ , fast, well coached, hard hitting teams are a pleasure to watch.
 
Hard not to be annoyed with Freddy. Sure, Carolina this year is probably a better team than any Leaf team he played behind but.. I don't know. He gave up so many stinky goals that had nothing to do with team defence over the years, especially the last few, and now magically he can make those saves again? I don't think anyone had a problem with him letting in the goals he should let in, it was always the whiffs off a 20 mph fluttering shot from the blue line where he took no responsibility for that people had an issue with.

I get what you were saying. If kuraly, or foudy happen once, it’s whatever , bad goal it happens but he did it every year.

All I’ll say is wait until the playoffs before saying he’s changed, I know this sounds brutal, but it could be that he’s just healthy and the change of scenery fully refreshed him. We’ll see if he’s reset his mental fortitude in the playoffs


But for your part on the types of saves he was making. When that came into question, it was obvious that the fanbase was done with him. That Winnipeg 3 game series was primary about the limited high danger chances he let in, he wasn’t making the big saves

I don’t think he does, but if he does because of playing with McDavid, so what? People tore into him from other teams when media people suggested it last season.

It’s fun watching them become complete hypocrites.

I think most fans tore into him during and after the playoffs, and a lot of them are Marner and AM fans bc they needed a scapegoat as to why both of them were not producing. The offence died on his stick or something like that.
Personally, I think 5.5mil is an overpayment for Hyman.
 
It’s October, of course Freddy going good. Wait until the playoffs and see how he does.

Granted he’s never been the #1 goalie on a team that’s expected to go on a long playoff run, or been in atmosphere like Carolina, so maybe that’ll inspire him.

He looks like he's benefiting from a playing with a team that has structure and generally value team above individual. He only had a season or two of that in Toronto.

I'm talking about when someone on TSN or Sportnet had a panel and they brought up Zach Hyman as possible Olympian and the rest of the board lost its mind about Leaf fans and tire pumping.
