23pts in 15GP for Kadri, 4th in league scoring.

That trade hurts. As much of a loose cannon as he is, not experimenting with him as a top 6 LW was such a head scratcher in hindsight.

We’ll see if he can do that come playoff time, assuming he doesn’t get himself suspended for the fourth time in five years.

As crazy as it sounds should James Reimer be at least considered for Team Canada in goal this year as a 3rd goalie? He's leading all Canadian goaltenders in SV% and his career SV% is actually 5th amongst active Canadian goaltenders with at least 200 games. Career numbers:

Price: .917
Kuemper: .916
Talbot: .915
Holtby: .915
Reimer: .914
Fleury: .913

Doesn't hurt that we don't have a lot of great options either. I assume the three would be Price if he's healthy followed by Hart and Blackwood, but he's been really good for the Sharks this year.

I’m happy he’s having a great season, but this comes after 2 really disappointing years where Av fans were calling for his head. He seems extra motivated in his contract year but unless he can cool his head in the playoffs he may still not get the retirement contract he’s looking for.

They might not want to run with two young guys in Hart and Blackwood but who knows. That said, I don't know if Reimer has the big game experience to warrant a backup role but that's just my gut feeling.

Off topic, but I really wish we got Jarvis in the 2020 draft. He's looking like he's going to be a great player in this league while being an awesome locker room culture guy.

One disappointing year. In his first year, he was awesome.

What's amazing, is that years later, people ignore the reality as to why he was traded. I mean when your GM publicly states you need to act in a more mature manner, you have run-ins with every coach on the Marlies, and Leafs that you played for, you have internal suspensions, when the organization calls your parents in to discuss your behaviour...... and this was all BEFORE the playoff suspensions. He was traded due to a lack of discipline over a long period of time. They gave him multiple chances, and he failed... his behaviour traded himself.

No head scratcher at all. Good player, no question.... but they were trying to set the ground rules, as to what type of behaviour was accepted, and he was outside of that for years.

Can’t say I’m enjoying Seth Jarvis providing secondary scoring for the Hurricanes.

Point out 4-6 weeks. That is going to hurt TB. Should give the Leafs a chance to hopefully make a little bit of separation from TB.l in the standings.

If you know, you know.

Tampa has 3 games in hand and is 4 points back. I think the Leafs will be hard pressed to stay ahead of them in the long run but hopefully they can keep it close to gain home ice.

I think the bigger thing is maintaining a healthy lead over the wild card teams battling for those 7/8 spots

Yes you are right but those wildcard teams also have games in hand to potentially catch the Leafs. Way too early to think like that but need to bank those points and try to stay above that cluster of teams.

Points just make it more confusing.

TBL .676pts%
TOR .675pts%

Tbay is the tiniest bit ahead of the Leafs at the moment.

Yup. And Boston has a lot of games in hand too. I know everyone expects Boston to take a step back this year but I refuse to accept that until it actually happens.

Yep it's a tight battle. Really too early in the year to get caught up in this stuff, as long as the Leafs maintain pace to give themselves a shot at home ice is all you can ask for right now. Just stay ahead of the pack and take care of business.

He'll be ready for the playoffs...just right on time in Tampa Bay style...:sarcasm:

Oilers with only 40 seconds of PP through two periods. Queue the McDavid press conference.

Also of note, Oilers with only 14 shots through two. I guess the refs are to blame for that too.
