They look like the 2 time champs, that don't want it as much, have 1 of their best players injured, and a team that has lost quite a bit of talent. Rangers look deeper, hungrier....

Is NY good or are the Leafs bad? I know it’s still early in the game but the Rangers are playing a great game so far.

It looks like a bit of both. Tampa don’t even look like they can handle the puck. Bob lying and falling.

Does not look at all like how they played. Just by pure puck handling

So far but doesn’t look good for Tampa

It is all about timing IMO. This was probably it for Sakic to go all in before Mack's new contract with Kadri being a pending UFA and other RFA deals coming up.

Sometimes you have to pay the price to have a crack at it. I think Avs could have gone all the way couple years ago too if they didn't lose both their goalies (starter and back-up); were playing a 3rd stringer in net and also had other injuries to their forward and d line up.

Even then they took dallas to game 7 OT. Dallas made the cup finals that year

Toronto fans, tip of the cap. The injuries to the Avs in the bubble are nice to discover as known to others. (Colorado hockey coverage, if and where in existence, is terrible. The team hasn’t even lifted an in-state tv blackout for 3 years over one of Stan Kroenke’s billionaire court battles)

If the Leafs play NYR it would be ended in a sweep.

No way to know.

The rangers were horrifically outplayed by the pens. They barely beat the 3rd string goalie who couldn’t stop anything.

They could be this years team of destiny.

Boston without McAvoy and Marchand until at least December. Grzelcyk until November. Bergeron might retire. Could be a rough start for them next year.
