GDT: Around the League - 2021/22 PART III

You are not wrong. Holland has totally screwed up that team. Kind of like what Burke did when he was brought in to save the Leafs.
 
As bad as the situation is, any prospective GM would salivate at the potential of building a team around McDavid and Draisaitl. Similar to when Crosby and Malkin were in those same prime years. But boy would they have their work cut out for them though, no doubt.
 
Damn Sam Bennett with 17 goals in 31 games. Willie has been great and has 16 in 37. What a steal for the Panthers if he does not pull another Kadri in the playoffs.

I'm sure there are a few around here that won't want their expert scouting opinion on Bennett dredged up. :laugh:

I was hopeful Dubas would bring him here but even I didn't expect this breakout.

The guy who said he could have served as a Hyman replacement should Hyman leave was 100% correct. Instead we signed an underwhelming lazy ass to replace Hyman. Luckily Bunting has taken and run with the baton and for peanuts.

IMO if he’s dealt, it should be on draft weekend, likely before the first round.

I think trading Draisaitl might be the move. I don't know the clauses on it but the significantly lower cap hit widens the market?
 
Marner and Ritchie for McD.
That’s not a bad deal, after all both Marner and McD are First Team All Star last season. Marner PK and PP. McD only PP.
Marner can set up Drai all day with Hyman on the other wing. Ritchie can play on the 3rd line and punch the crap out of Lucic during battle of Alberta.
McD can fit on a line with JT and Kerfoot. Willie move to play with Bunting and AM.

If you read the main board, it will take a whole lot more.
 
It'll be interesting to see how the Canes handle being 3-0 up against a team that has proven it can come back easily.
