No first round pick to use for anything, either.Couldn't have happened to a nicer team.
Now to watch them flail about with their cap situation without even having a Cup to show for it.
Oh, the schadenfreude. It tastes...so sweet.
Eichel not having a good season, 1 point in his last 6 games.
They also said on Spittin Chiclets that Eichel has been playing with an injury since he returned to the lineup (not neck related). To be fair to Eichel he himself said it would take longer than this season to get back to where he was as a player. Vegas just assumed they would get 2019-20 Eichel, he won't be back to that level until early next year I'm guessing.

That sucks for Eichel, that means they are only getting great Eichel for 4 seasons til he leaves town to a better team if he doesn't request a trade before then.To be fair to Eichel he himself said it would take longer than this season to get back to where he was as a player. not really that surprising. price was the only reason they made it to the finalsMontreal went from Stanley cup finals to worst team in the NHL pretty quickly.
The Kings have awfully low standards for jersey retirements if 23 goes up to the rafters lol.
Wasn't he the Captain on their first two cups though?
Yeah but I think jersey retirements should be for close to HOFers. I don't care how long he was captain for, at his very best he was a good complimentary piece, never an elite talent. Switch him out for Chris Kunitz and the Kings still win two cups.
Fair point, I think Captaining a team to the first cup in franchise history may be worthy of a jersey retirement.
Usually the C is the best player on the team, or at least at one point was the best player on the team. Brown was never that. So I can see the argument for not retiring his number. Personally he would seem out of place when you look at the other numbers in the rafters.Fair point, I think Captaining a team to the first cup in franchise history may be worthy of a jersey retirement.
