Can the Sabres set the all time losing streak record? They need to lose 5 more in a row.

The Sabres have 3 wins in their last 23 games, but all 3 wins came against the Devils.

Next 5 games are all against teams that are above .500:
@ Penguins
@ Penguins
@ Bruins
Flyers
Flyers

Couturier is playing with a bad hip. And he, Provy and Hart would be the only players I'd deem untouchable.

AV = been praying he'd be fired the day after they made the mistake of hiring him. But he's got 3 yrs after this at 5M per . I'd be surprised if they let him go now. I've never liked him or his inefficent and ineffective system. Make poor decisoins, doesn't like or develop young players (and has that shown this year with the damage he's done to several of them) and gets outcoached in most playoff runs.
Fletcher hired him on a knee jerk reaction less then a week after Quenville got hired by the Panthers. Fletcher was convinced Q would sign in Philly. It wasn't like there was a long line of teams wiating for AV . Awful. And giving Hayes a 7 yr 51M contract, brilliant.

Team has talent but he's just not the right fit and they are totally fractured , esp Hart. WHo shuld have never been a starter last year at 21. Should have been on the PHantoms for 2 yrs. ESp in AV's system which rides goalies like a cheap mule.
I just hope he's not damaged too much.

It's just hard to watch them falling apart all over the ice. Confidence shot.

I agree, at some point the Kings are going to have to make a decision that Cal is the #1. The stats don't lie right now, he is the superior goalie. And the Kings aren't in a position to "wait" for Quick to hopefully get form back? It really should be 70/30 the rest of the way, and can really see if Cal can be a true #1. He is still in many ways a prospect proving himself as well.

its really going to be a 50/50 split , maybe one guy getting a few more starts if he's on a streak. I wouldn't expect it to change until next year or possibly the following one where Cal is the number one. There's no real hurry .

Avs blew a 4-2 lead in the 3rd. ARZ wins in a SO . They now jump over us into 5th. Some no name 3rd string goal steals it for them.

What a sloppy 3rd for the Avs. Where was this team when we played them?

Coyotes’ goalie pipeline is actually stacked. Keumper and Raanta’s only kryptonite is their injury history.

Adin Hill and Ivan Prosvetov behind them in the minors are both legit (especially Prosvetov). If I’m them I try to get a king’s ransom for Keumper and then move to one of the kids.

That's what we get for not taking care of SJ...

To me, this is a non-issue, without watching that game, it's impossible to know what the intent was and you only heard a what 8 second snippet of a longer conversation.

Having reffed for god knows 30+ years from youth to Single A Pro.....it's normal. He didn't invent a penalty, there was somethign there, admittedly he says it's not much, but it's still there, it's just one of those he could let go etc, but for some reason, we don't know why, he was waiting for Nashville, could be he let too much go in the 1st, was waiting for it, could be he's an ass, either option is there...

I can’t remember a time when make up calls weren’t part of the game. I’ve just kind of accepted it. I guess the argument is that a ref has a ton of influence on the game. Like all humans they are fallible. The hope is that the mistakes are few and far between and not critically impactful when they do happen.

Looks like Peel was set to retire next month anyway.

a make-up call is one thing, saying to another official that you "wanted to get one early" against a team is way too far over the line

if you want to think those things as a ref and feel that you need to make up for an earlier mistake or missed call, that's one thing, you absolutely cannot verbalize it to another official to influence their calls

won't see me shed a single tear over this one

How do I know Tom Peel was not a great ref.? I knew his name. Refs should not be known by the fans.
