Unpopular opinion; Tom Wilson shouldn't have been suspended for the hit.

At the start of the video Carlo's head was up, moving the puck, in a matter of a second he lowered it and got hit. Wilson didn't stick out an elbow; if anything he could of lined it up better and got more shoulder but in general I have no problem with the contact.

I agree, and I am not fan of Tom Wilson or the style of hockey he plays.

I think this is a reputation suspension, but I think that sometimes that is not a bad thing. I thought the Torres hit on Stoll was the same thing, but didn't have a problem with either suspension, you reap what you sow.

This just makes up for the ridiculous reduced penalty he got for his last one.

Both hits – this Wilson hit + the Torres hit are the same in that the hitter took a specific angle to hit (or clip) the other player rather than hit the player THROUGH THE BODY. This is the same type of hit as Matt Cooke on Savard, recent hit on Nathan MacKinnon, etc. that have to do with ANGLING. Go back and watch the MacKinnon hit. Same thing. You have to hit the player through the body.

If you look at the other video angle you can clearly see the path Wilson took to deliver the hit was never going to hit Carlo through his body, but clip his head regardless of wether Carlo's head is down or not. It's all about the angling.

This specific type of hit ends players career's because it targets the head/shoulder rather than the body. The player taking the hit is also not able to defend against a hit like this. The league has been very clear about this.

I don't understand why some of you can't comprehend this. Didn't you play hockey growing up? EVERY player in the league will tell you this is a complete BS hit other than the lone rat player dishing out the hit or the coach who feels the need to stick up for his player.

Man this Tampa/Chicago game is lit

Chi scored 3 and now tampa has answered with 4 straight and the second period isn't even over

Sabres have lost the last three games with the Isles by the same score of 5-2.

Sabres also have lost the last three games with the Flyers by the same score of 3-0.

Now that is consistentcy.

Eichel with one assist in each of these games. I was in the same boat.

Okposo signing looked bad when it happened, and to say it's even worse now would be an understatement. Skinner's signing fell in the same boat. I don't know if there's anyone who believed he was worth the price and term that he got.

I honestly feel bad for Buffalo, it really sucks to see them bottom out. It does show that tanking forever and hoping that prospects work out is not a bulletproof technique though

It's not even the prospects. The guys they brought in by spending money is what isn't working out. Buffalo's problem is only compounded by an inability to draft/develop talent. They're getting hit on both sides, and that's why they're a complete mess with no easy answer. Not to mention the trades. The amount of nothing they got for O'Reilly helps nobody but St.Louis.

Yep. It's a good hockey town too. Unfortunate but, at least the Bills are on the upswing.

Same goes for the Oilers with regards to tanking/prospects developing. Just wasting McDavid's prime years.

Yeah, it would be great for the league if Buffalo had a good hockey team. I think that region is constantly at the top for ratings.
