Interesting, guess that makes sense. Well, I'm excited he's back in the league, will always love Sutter even though it ended up falling apart.

as a guy from small town Alberta i will always cheer for any of the Sutters. They have done a lot for local community and charities. Met Darryl the summer of 04 after the Flames lost in the finals at a restaurant in Red Deer. Very nice guy.

I just now saw the news about Sutter.

I'm happy for him. I've always hated the Flames, but I have a reason to root for them now.

Unfortunate news. Didn’t know he was in this much difficulty.

I’ve always been fascinated with the “Miracle On Ice”. Much too young to remember but I’m sure those here who do recall 1980 Lake Placid have some fond memories of that group.

Love hearing stories about that team and the epic Herb Brooks pre-game speech before the Americans took the ice against the Soviets.

I will remember Mark Pavelich as a productive player during his days with the Rangers. RIP.

Tom Wilson with a very questionable hit on Brandon Carlo in tonight’s game.

He’s had to answer to Jared Tinordi and Trent Frederic thus far.

5-0 Bruins early in the 3rd so there may be more to come.

Btw, Tinordi was recently on waivers. Could have been an option for the Kings. Big boy that sticks up for his teammates and is a decent bottom pairing guy.

Would someone please throw the book at that neanderthal Tom Wilson already? I like the Caps and I love players who finish their checks but this guy needs to be dealt with immediately. Gross play by a gross player.

He's a caveman on skates, but he doesn't have to be. If he'd cut out the cheap shots (which I know is asking alot of him) he would be decent power forward.

Virtual In person hearing tonight

Knights kicked out of their San Jose hotel when it went suddenly bankrupt and closed.

Golden Knights evicted from team hotel in San Jose on Friday

The Knights held their morning skate Friday at SAP Center and returned to the Fairmont Hotel for their pregame meal. After players went back to their rooms for an afternoon nap, director of team services Rick Braunstein sent out a message with instructions to pack their bags and bring all their belongings with them when they leave for the game.

I hated it when I saw it. Hated it when I watched highlights afterwards. Still hate it in slo mo.

Should be a big suspension for targeting the head. No place in the game for this because they have no protection from hits like this and it ends players careers.

Did Evander Kane own the hotel?

Got a 7 game suspension for that hit.

Would be? He is. A fairly unique player in today's game too.

The physical play is the power in power forward. Stands up for teammates. Ok, he does some dirty stuff, but we've also watched Brown back in his day.

I think the league needs more Tom Wilson's. They stir the pot. Say what you will about the dirty hits, but that's what creates rivalry. The Avs/Wings is not the gold standard of post-80's hockey because they skated around each other and shot the puck a few times. Very much tied to chaos and blood.

i'm not with that.. he doesn't just skirt the line, he intentionally crosses it to see what he can get away with and that hit was emblematic. every opportunity to drive through the shoulder and hammer carlo legally, he intentionally swings his arms through so he can go low-high into carlo's head. no excuse.

dude's a pure head and knee-hunter and i don't think there's a place for that any more. there's a million ways to legally hit people hard and i don't want to watch 90s obstruction-fests and pointless line brawls any more. too much skill in the league now.

Some? It's much too large a part of his game. He is a headhunter, goes out of his way to hit dirty, to hurt. There are more effective ways to by physically imposing.

The NHL certainly does not need 'more' Tom Wilsons.

Unpopular opinion; Tom Wilson shouldn't have been suspended for the hit.

At the start of the video Carlo's head was up, moving the puck, in a matter of a second he lowered it and got hit. Wilson didn't stick out an elbow; if anything he could of lined it up better and got more shoulder but in general I have no problem with the contact.

Carlo's head being up or down wouldn't matter much as WIlson raised his shoulder and threw his body into it , he would have hit the head anyway.

To be fair to Brown, Wilson's hit would more fall under the Stoll category. Brownie is a leg man.
