Hey guys, I’m just wondering when you guys hired Sutter did he make any drastic line changes? If yes, could you send a before and after of the lines. Thanks!!!

He made some changes to the lineup after he took over, like replacing over-the-hill and washed up players like Ethan Moreau and Trent Hunter with Dwight King and Jordan Nolan. The Kings also traded for Jeff Carter a few months later, so that helped quite a bit, as did the addition of Voynov in the lineup.

The most noticeable difference we saw with the Kings is that they started to play with some passion and intensity, and they were a lot more aggressive in their forecheck, as opposed to the more methodical and mundane approach preached by the previous coach, Terry Murray.

You guys are very lucky. Sutter hockey is elite when you have team buy in. Calgary is going to be a puck possession for checking beast.

i mean what was his schtick, he "looked for pairs" of a center and a winger and he would work the rest of the wingers around that? i feel like there was substantial shuffling in the bottom 6 as a result

he definitely championed the dustin brown demotion though, that's for sure

Hide the trash cans.......or fill up the locker room with trash cans.....I dunno.

What if Kopitar, Doughty and Quick were traded to the Flames lol

The entire forecheck changed. The Kings went from protecting "home plate" under Murray to a possession team under Sutter, which easily played over 50% of the game on the opponent's side of the red line, and probably 20% behind the opponent's goal.

Wow, didn't think to see Sutter again. It Will be very interesting to see if he adapts his style at all in the new NHL, or if he is just going to be the same old Sutter as always :P Those kids are in for a kick in the ass...

5 head coaches, 4 of which he has hired, while only being GM for 7 years. Perhaps Treliving should be the one fired

Darryl must of been getting antsy on the farm. Can’t wait for his post game press conferences. What a beauty.

He’ll get the Flames back on track. But he’s got a short shelf life. Interested to see how it plays out.

Best of luck to him.

RIP Walter Gretzky. Woulda sworn he was older. Had Wayne when he was only 22.

Canada’s hockey dad is gone to a better place. Never had the privilege to meet the man, wish I did.

He was an absolute class act and always took the time for others. Just an amazing individual. Blue collar guy who never thought he was bigger than anyone else because of his status.

Been hearing some great stories this morning on Sportsnet. Awesome stuff.

R.I.P, Walter. You will be missed.

You know Sutter isn't going to put up with Tkatchuks antics

Sutter will beat his ass himself.

Really though Tkachuk is already a top player, Sutter will take him to the next level and as a Captain longer term imo. I think MT's desire to push hard aligns perfectly with what Sutter wants from his guys. More Iginla, less Marchand.

Love that Sutter is back in the NHL!!

Love that he is behind Calgary's bench!

Love that it is a three year deal so LA will play him next year. Brown vs Sutter!

I think Tkachuk and Daryl will gel together nicely. Sutter likes when guys show a pulse no matter what, and that is Tkachuk. I think Monahan will definitely not gel. I think Johnny could work but very iffy.

Sutter drafted Backlund
