Tough to beat a team $16 shmilly over the cap. The Tampa Bay Circumventing found the loopholes and sure drove a truck through them.

Dude only whiners make excuses. The only player that matters is Kuch who was forced to miss the season. The other guys they picked up have been underwhelming. Plenty of teams go into the playoffs over the cap and what the leafs did was far worse considering they actively traded for players that wouldn't play until the playoffs.
TB has essentially the same roster as the ones in the bubble and even if Kuch was healthy they would have moved Tyler and another 3 million contract and wouldn't have traded for Savard and still would have won the cup.
If Petey gets hurt next year after signing for 7 million and is out till the playoffs would you complain if Benning added a 7 million dollar contract to replace him for the season? Would you say that even if he's healthy Petey should be forced to sit or the player he was traded for has to sit?

You guys act like they cheated, all they did was push it off legally till this summer.
The Habs suck and only got this far because of Price so it's moot anyway.

I just checked and they are already over the cap for next season even if they don't sign anybody. They don't really have cap dumps on their team either. I'm really curious how they will create cap space for another Stanley Cup.
