Maybe this will end up being an overreaction but I think this might be the end of the line for the Sharks. Just a lot of issues with roster construction, age and contracts. They won't be a bottom 5 team in the league or anything but they could very easily pull a 2015 Kings type year.

While it is still early, if the Guppies don’t turn things around quickly, I can see this happening. They are tight against the cap and might need to trade one of their younger players that has value for defensive help. Good luck with that.

They already gutted their depth to keep Karlsson too. It's early still, time for them to turn it around but they don't look good, that's for sure.

Yup they are not looking too hot. They got desperate and got a decling Marleau.

Letting Pavelski go and signing EK for life was a terrible move, and that shouldn’t be a hot take. Pavelski was always the only one on that team with any gumption, and EK is just not the same player he was five years ago.

Sharks defense was perfectly fine without Karlsson. Sharks locker room without Pavelski is probably a mess.

We all knew biting on the Karlsson meme was going to hurt the Sharks. They lost way too many depths players that really allowed them to be such a force and Pavelski was more glue than they realized I think. He's a bigger leader than Jumbo.

I know it's already been said, but the Sharks with the worst record and no first round pick might put a stop to some of their trash talking for a while.

Also, considering that Ottawa lost their first round pick to Colorado and it was a potential lottery pick, this should help them properly in their rebuild.

Now they just need to get rid of Melnyk.

Can't give Pavelski the contract he got either.

Disagree, as much as i hate him, the guy has been producing and at this point you will need to overpay.
3 x 7 with cost of NHL inflation, isn't that bad, maybe a year too long but the guy scores goals ...kings gave Kovy 3 x 6.25 two years ago, I think far worse contract (esp since its 35+ contract).
