They also don't need the other stuff. They've got the skill, they need the rest.

This is it for them. This is their shot. A bunch of guys signed for many years. A lot of them are inching toward, if not at, 30. Everyone has at least a NTC of some kind. Their goalie is going to $9.5m on the cap next year. If it doesn't work with the core they currently have, it's not going to work. A couple late 1sts are likely not going to make a difference. Coleman and Goodrow have the potential to help now, when they need the help.

Lehner is looking to get paid. I think Chicago thinks they can take a chance on him July 1, or Holtby, Markstorm or go the trade route (for a NYR goalie or Murray).

Point is there are a fair bit of Goalies available this summer and a 2nd in a deep draft for a goalie is not bad value.
