Ryan McDonagh left the game for the Bolts after blocking a shot. Have to think if he’s out for any length of time, it’s another club that could be calling the Kings about AMart.

I don’t like seeing injuries, but every time a defenseman goes down Martinez value goes up just a little bit more.

their defense is coming along. Bear looks legit and Buchard will be really good. Nurse will be a solid second pair guy with Klefbom. Need to move on from the rest
Not like they aren't in a playoff position. They should be with multiple 100pt players. But once the playoffs come, that goalie they don't have is gonna be a bigger deal.

I'd be ok sending Quick and A Mart to Edmonton for the right return. They gave us 99 so we could return the favor. Besides, it would really piss off Calgary. Any arena that is in the shape of a saddle so people can't see just deserves to not win a cup.

I am a huge fan of Bear, he looks like a f***ing player and I'm sure I will hate him once the Kings are good again.

Edmonton, the poster child for doing less with more. Buffalo is trying to hard to compete for that title though.

The Sabres are a train wreck. And I've never been a fan of The Pegulas and as long as they are there, this team will be a mess. Given the talent they had and have, over the past decade or so there isn't many excuses left.

There is a lot of stuff laid out in this article

The Wysh List: Why the Buffalo Sabres are the NHL's biggest disaster

Whatever the next remedy is for their decade of ills, the Sabres being this bad absolutely sucks for the NHL -- and not just because we're seriously considering sending SEAL Team 6 in to rescue Eichel from this disaster zone.

I feel sorry for Eichel, he generally tries his best but I'm sure it feels like spitting into the wind on most nights

Ovie currently at 698 goals, in 147 games, which when he hits 700 (I think that will be Saturday ) will be the fastest in NHL history, going from 600 goals to 700 (currenlty from 600 to 698 in 147 games).

He seems to be on a mission and with 28 games left, he should be able to hit 50. He has stated he wants to play at least until he's 40, so that would be 6 more years and he'd have to average a little over 30 per if he gets to 50 this year.
I think he's got a good shot to beat the all time record.

Buffalo jumped 30 points from 14-15 to 15-16. Drafted Eichel, traded for O'Reilly, had Kane from the year before but he was healthy and played his first game in Buffalo. Top players, 24, 18, 19, 20, 24. Things looked up. Then they dipped their hand into the 2016 free agent class, possibly doing that sort of move too early, and Okposo has been a disaster for one reason or another. Things got worse in 17-18, and had to get rid of Kane. Then got Skinner last year, for a couple mid level picks. Then gave him another disaster contract.

They've got some things in their favor. Eichel is good. They have a ton of UFA's that they can easily let walk, or trade soon if anyone wants any of them. Not a total clean slate to work with, but room to do something if you can get creative. The Skinner and Okposo contracts will be an issue though. Those two likely cancel out the cap room the UFA's make. They also desperately need a goalie, but if they have something in Johansson, that would go a long way, since he probably won't be too expensive to re-sign. Fix the defense. They need depth up front, but, those 2 disaster contracts are roadblocks.

Unlike in Edmonton, there's no 2nd Eichel in Buffalo to help mask the lack of offensive depth. Reinhart is good, but not that good.

From where they are today, there doesn't seem to be a clear path for them. I'm sure they could trade Ristolainen for something, but what? Hope Skinner gets back to 25+ goals? Find some more Olofsson's? Then there's the ever present Eichel questions. How mad is he? How much does he want out today, next week, next month, next year? A lottery win would help.

Clifford wearing number 73. Apparently there used to be some player, who did something in Toronto for a while who wore number 13.

Botteril has done a poor job overall highlighted by the ROR trade which was a disaster. They never addressed the need for a 2nd line centre, drafting has been average, at best, and they seem like they are unsure what to do with Risto not to mention they started they year with something like 9 defenseman in NHL only deals.

Agree regarding Jack. Kid has had a tremendous season. You hope his best years are not going to be wasted. I really hope they turn things around in Buffalo. It’s a good fan base and they deserve better.
