Sharks now 9 points out of the final WC spot and their schedule starts to get really brutal. Next four are TB, @cgy, @EDM, CGY. 8 of their 13 games in February are on the road.

This is hilarious to watch, eases the pain a bit with the Kings.

California is a hockey graveyard.

Hoven might be right , but then again, maybe it's not decided yet. They were supposed to announce the name at the All Star Weekned conclusion, now it's slated for late Feb/Early March.
And given the clues in the teams release, they have covered several of them

Fishy- Sockeyes, steelheads
Depths/Ocean -Kraken
Mountain -Evergreens
Forest - Sasquatch
Green - Emeralds

I like Sockeyes

Alexis Lafreniere enhances No. 1 status in TSN's mid-season NHL draft ranking - TSN.ca

Jan Mysak (ranked 53) is an interesting one for me because I've paid attention to him more recently since he came to Hamilton. I've seen oter publications have him ranked in the first round, with one having him in the teens.

Sanderson's stock seems to continue to go upwards.

A couple OHL kids I like are Cuylle (43), Sebrango (47) and Evangelista (62). Would like to see the Kings grab another 2nd round pick at the deadline and have the opportunity to grab one of them.

Remember when teams used to dread coming out to California for the 3-game swing. It was like running the gauntlet akin to American Gladiators. You know you were going leave battered, bloodied and bruised at the end of it and were quite happy if you got one win out of the trip.

Now it is like running the American Gladiators gauntlet but every gladiator is Malibu.

Kraken or Battle Cattle for me!

Hertl has crappy knee genetics. He shouldn't have any problems after both are fixed. If one is thinner than usual, the other often is as well.

Maybe they leaked the Kraken idea to see what the general response would be.
